Iowa 80s food court is pretty clean. The staff at the Einstein Bagels were friendly and efficient. I ate at the diner here last night and it was awful. I puked on the way back to the truck. (Never eating there again) I decided I would stay at the truck stop a little longer this morning so I can get my favorite Einstein breakfast, the Chorizo Sunrise, but on an Asiago Bagel. It's my goto every time. I went in and ordered it and she said they don't have that. I was Gobsmacked. I just had it at an Einstein's last week. She said this location doesn't have the full menu. Extremely annoying, but not her fault. I went with the Nova Lox on a 6 cheese and I got an Avocado Toast on an everything.
The lox was fresh and the sandwich was pretty good, but the Six Cheese "bagel" was weird. There was hard melted cheese all around the edge which was very chewy and I had to just rip it off. Also, it appeared to be made of Bagel dough, but that was the end of its similarities. It was flat and weird and had a bunch of tiny holes on the bottom.
The thing about ordering extra Avocado at Einstein Bros is usually they charge you but just put the same amount and spread it around more. I always have to check it and make them add more. Not this time. She did me right. Extra Avocado came with extra Avocado. Overall the food is consistent with all Einstein Bros. Bagels and I would recommend you eat here or one of their other food court option over the diner.
(I recommend you lick the floors in the bathroom over eating at the...
Read moreWorst customer service ever. My husband ordered our coffee and breakfast, there were a few customers ahead of us and the cashier told him that there was another customer with the same name ahead so we took a seat. We sat there for about 20 minutes, patiently waiting.
During this time we saw 2 customers return claiming they received the wrong order. A woman with dark brown hair was very apologetic and remade her order, same thing with the second customer. After witnessing this I told my husband "they probably handed our food to someone else so he went to the counter to ask. The same dark haired woman told him "it's right there" pointing to the bag the woman claiming to have gotten the wrong order had left on the counter 5 minutes before. My husband told her he was not going to take that because he saw the other woman returning it, the woman got upset and yelled "ok, I'm remaking yours". A few minutes went by she walked up to the counter and threw the bag at my husband.i got up and asked to speak to the manager, come to find out she was the one by the register, meaning she knew and saw everything happen. I'm highly disappointed and disgusted that even with all the safety protocols these days anyone in the food service industry would allow something this...
Read moreAs a loyal customer of Einstein Bagels for over 15 years, with multiple visits to various locations during my time as an OTR driver, I was disappointed to find that the Iowa location did not meet the high standards of service I have come to expect from the brand.
For optimal success, it is imperative to have employees with experience in customer service, food handling, and safe food preparation.
Additionally, staff should be trained to deliver orders to the counter in a timely manner, always inquiring if there is anything else they can assist with.
Providing exceptional customer service is crucial, regardless of the day or time of visit.
Unfortunately, my experiences at this location have been consistently disappointing, with orders frequently not prepared as requested.
It is not unreasonable to expect that simple requests, such as no onions or cutting a sandwich in half, be fulfilled accurately.
Furthermore, applying common sense when preparing sandwiches is essential, as excessive amounts of cream cheese and onions can be...
