I went there and was quoted a price, and then was told that I would get a discount for being a driver. I would get a driver discount. I was told my nightly rate would be $85 plus tax with the discount. I agreed, she the clerk told me the paperwork wouldn't reflect that discount, it would show up on the final receipt. That it was in the computer by morning and that I would be charged the price quoted. Turns out they charged me $117.60 a night that's what taxes included so the total for two nights was $235.20 when there was other hotels available but comforter inn staff quoted the price of $85 plus tax as a driver discount. When I received my statement 4 days later I was not charged that I was charged more, a lot more. I called the hotel and the reception rather rudely said while your receipt, the 1st receipt that I gave you before you checked in is the amount you agreed to pay and that's what it is, that's what you were charges and that's what it is. And besides it sounds like you got your discount. I politely replied that's not a discount. I would have stood somewhere else if you would have told me that I was going to be paying $117 a night considering I'm looking at your website right now and it's $80 and it'll go up too $90 on the weekend so again no discount was applied, but it was stated that there would be one. Again rudely she said that's what it is, that's what it is, You have a good day. So that was the call and the experience I had at the comfort inn in Walcott, ia. I mean I tolerated their sugar ants, and the bits of food in the corner of the room. I figured getting the discount, I could tolerate that for the night of sleep I need to get. That clerk that works there is thoroughly unprofessional and deceitful. Lacks ethics, and darkens that business location. I am not going to stay there again, nor is anyone from my business going to stay there. So if you read this and happen to be by there, the Comfort Inn, Walcott, ia. You may want to tell the people who are there to be TRUTHFUL, STOP STEALING from the patrons, stop lying to people who pay their salary. They are supposed to be a business. They are supposed to have ethics. They are supposed to be honest and supposed to be true. They are supposed to actually give what is offered and not underhandedly take from the PATRONS once they have their credit information after the...
Read moreMy advise to travelers ,Keep traveling to East Davenport, Hilton Garden Inn for clean rooms! Heading home from Arizona trip and stop at the comfort inn walcott. I wish I would have follow my gut instinct of the location and outside view of This hotel. Both were dingy and dirty. Inside i noticed a weird oder ( like fuel oil) however the clerk assured me his rooms were clean. We have stayed in several comfort inn hotels on our trip and all of them were clean and up to standards so we paid and went to our room. The carpet on the 2nd floor hallway was dirty and stained, our room carpet looked the same and the room had the same downstairs smell. The hotel is nasty and old and everything was worn, including the old soft mattress on the bed. The night stand had water stains. After further investigation of the reviews I was mortified to find 14 complaining of bed bugs. The original three or Four were positive, I have learned my lesson to look at “ more reviews” section. My husband and I looked online to find a hotel elsewhere and then heading back downstairs. The desk clerk did not want to refund us , stating we had been in the room 45 min. He did call management and they stated they would refund our money. The room is still pending on our account.the hotel rate was 117 per night, for a $45 quality room. we found a Hilton Garden Inn in Bettendorf for...
Read moreWe have several rewards programs, and, therefore, we can choose widely where we stop. But when we arrived at the Walcott, IA Comfort Inn, we were pleasantly surprised at the good rate on that Tuesday evening, and we found the motel very clean and the breakfast as good as in most competitive motels nowadays. But cleanliness especially means a lot to my wife. Thus when we were returning home from Kalamazoo, MI, where we had been for a conference, we decided we would make our way on our first shorter day's drive back to Walcott's Comfort Inn. Again, we weren't disappointed and found the staff helpful and friendly, the alternate room also very clean and well supplied, and another good breakfast. Another couple we spoke with were obviously happy with what they found at breakfast too. There was a nice choice of whole fruits too. We would be happy to stop here again on our yearly trips to Michigan.
For non-smokers like us, there is at least one whole floor with all non-smoking rooms, making the rooms smell good and seem really clean. We recommend this as a good deal on your way across...
