@Selby's Grab & Go Let me just say Chef is an Angel. I have been going through depression because I loss my poodle of 3 years suddenly from IBD on November 3, 2023. I promised myself that Saturday I was going to get up early to do my shopping and swing by to his new restaurant for breakfast because I had been wanting pancakes. Upon my arrival there was signage on the door saying closed for private event. I wasn't mad, I just said I'll try again another day. I then had a knock at my cat window and I'm sorry I forgot her name but it was ine of his staffnwho handed me a menu. I then informed her of what I had been going through and because I finally had strength to come out since he had passed. She said come on in we are going to get you some breakfast. She informed Chef and he first gave his condolences and then went into Chef mode. He said young lady I'm gonna make you some Pancakes 🥞 and what else would you like with it. While there I received bad news via a phone call telling me my cousin had passed away. Chef his staff member and a female long time supporter all went into decipleship. They comforted me, prayed for me and calmed me down before I drove home. Chef and his staff just proved there arr people in the community who still care.
Here are some pictures of my food and his establishment.
This good deed will forever remind me to keep living right and...
Read moreStopped by this spot with my husband and our two grown sons, and we all left full and happy. The vibe is super chill with an open layout, friendly energy, and it’s got that sports bar feel with TVs everywhere and sports stuff on the walls. Felt like a place you could hang out for hours.
The customer service was great. Everyone was welcoming, and the owner even came out to greet folks, which was a nice touch.
Now the food was so good. We tried the catfish with greens, wings and fries, salmon cheesesteak, and jerk wings with baked mac & cheese. The catfish was fried soft but still flavorful, not greasy at all. The mac and cheese tasted like somebody’s grandma made it, seasoned all the way through, not just sprinkled on top (the pic doesn't show seasoning but its flavored well). It’s not the creamy kind, but it’s got that baked, soulful goodness.
The jerk wings had a sweet kick but not too spicy, just enough to keep you going back for more. And the salmon cheesesteak? They don’t skimp on the salmon, and it’s seasoned just right (son just had to take a bite befor my photo). Portions were solid, I cleaned my plate and didn’t need a to-go box. Prices were fair too, especially for how much food you get.
Definitely planning to come back. It’s one of those places that...
Read moreI LOVE MY PEOPLE!! Now with that said, when we cook food we have to do it with SOUL & PURPOSE!!! I understand that A LOT of us have health issues, so having a lot of seasonings in food is not always great, HOWEVER, we can start to use the herbs we were passed down. Like a little Celtic salt or Himalayan salt, Organic ground pepper, thyme, paprika, etc. The Mac n cheese noodles were overcooked with cafeteria cheese, no seasoning or taste. The fish was not seasoned, it was bland but lightly fried with a nice crunch. The French fries were freezer bag fries. Clean environment, friendly service. My constructive criticism would be to ditch the fries and do fresh cut potatoes fries. The fish, change the supplier, go down to the wharf every other day and get a fresh batch of fish. Use a little more corn starch in the batter or flour. Add pepper a smidge of salt and paprika. The noodles need to be closely monitored and salted every morning you bake the Mac. Use moderate to expensive block cheese if Y can find it in bulk. Mix the cheeses. Add a smoked cheese to enhance flavor.. Then charge 20-25 for a meal. Let me know when youve made the tweaks and...
