Elizabeth's Bakery — Restaurant in Wallingford

I have been buying from Elizabeth bakery for the last 2.5 years and they were great , great tasting cakes , great prices and the staff was wonderful until they changed locations and head baker in the last year I have bought 3 cakes, all three were terrible. The cake I bought in February 2024 was a tres leche cake purple , the cake color was a brownish purple which was wrong I asked for a light purple but it tasted ok I let it slide because I called in a VERY short notice and they were still in the process of moving the bakery and they squeezed me in. The second cake I got was June 2024 it was also tres leche when I got it look nice but cutting into it the cake was dry like hard and dry , I went in the next day and to speak to the manager the lady behind the desk apologized for the cake and offered me a discount on my next order to resolve the situation. 3rd cake I bought was Today I picked up the cake and I should have know it would be bad just by looking at it , but I figured maybe it was like the cake I got In feb a little ugly looking but ok tasting , BOY WAS I WRONG, the cake was suppose Funfitti and it was hard I couldnt even cut into it ! The whole cake in the trash my friends 30th birthday ruined I called to file a complaint to get a refund or at least a partial one and nothing the HEAD BAKER HAD THE AUDACITY TO TELL ME WELL YEAH IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN MADE IN ADVANCE and froze until they are ready to use that he could re make a new cake but I had to old cake from the trash and it would not be funfetti cause those are special order cakes and it can’t be made same day ? , yellow cake with sprinkles can no be made same day ? , I will no longer do business with this bakery , frozen old...

So disappointed in this backery n their lack of professionalism. Especially that of the baker Guadalupe. I referred this bakery to my brother for his wedding. The cake after being delivered was assembled n seemed fine except for one caked seemed too filled like when ur belly is full. I voiced my concerns but she reashared me it was fine. The backery did not offer a refund although the baker Guadalupe said don't worry money is not the issue here crying as she spoke to me over the phone that she felt bad. I thought she was sincere but when it came to the refund she put us in front of the manager and hide in the kitchen. By the way we got no regund or apology from the Manager. Just the excuse that they do not offer cake insurance n its not his fault the cake fell over. Would not recommend this bakery to anyone anymore very unprofessional with no sense of pride for their work n do not recognized their mistake n try to please the customer no compromise. Just deal with it n oh well...

Elizabeth's Bakery is not your ordinary bakery, it's unique and diverse. I haven't gotten the chance to try everything they have but definitely will one day. So far I have tried their meltaways and they have won my heart. Aside from the perfect name to compliment this delicious pastry, it says it all. These Meltaways are just perfect as a mini sweet crave in the morning to go along with your coffee or hot chocolate. These Meltaways are made perfectly in flavor, texture and fresh every morning. Not only that, but customer service that the manager provided was also in detail and clear. Answered all of my questions and was content with the responses I received. I highly recommend Elizabeth's bakery for any upcoming events that you may have when it comes to needing dinner rolls, Italian bread, French bread, Mexican bread to cookies, canolis, carrot cake, cupcakes and even to cakes.
