I have been here on several occasions for different food, but tonight's experience made me want to write a review. I placed an order at 2pm today for a Detroit Pizza for delivery between 6pm and 6:15pm, as a quick meal before we had a 6:30pm appointment. At 6:20, I got a notification from Uber stating that my food would be just getting picked up and would arrive around 6:45. I called Hubspoke and asked what was going on and why the food would be so late when the order was placed hours before. From their end, they could tell that the Uber driver was dispatched when the food was prepared but still had yet to arrive to pick up the food and bring it to me. They showed his arrival at Hubspoke to be around 6:45pm. I voiced my concern about getting a pizza that would be more than an hour old and they were very sympathetic and frustrated with the system that apparently continually causes problems for them. They offered to remake my food so that it would be hot and fresh when the Uber driver arrived. The Uber driver texted me when he arrived at Hubspoke to let me know that they were remaking the food and then apparently abandoned the order and we were then notified that another driver had picked up. The order was then delivered without incident. Here is what happened next --- we received a message from Hubspoke stating that they refunded our order in full. Let me be clear --- this was NOT THE FAULT of Hubspoke. They have to rely on Uber and Door Dash to deliver their food and apparently, food is continually late, doesn't show up, arrives cold and other problems because of Uber and Door Dash and yet they took responsibility and the financial hit of refunding me. The pizza was AMAZING as always. But the graciousness of this restaurant to go above and beyond to make a hot pizza and refund my money is spectacular customer service. We will continue to order, but will be picking up our own food until they get their own staff delivery drivers in March. Uber Eats and Door Dash should be ashamed of themselves for causing a situation for which the small business takes the hit financially and from a reputation perspective. Thank you, Hubspoke Kitchen.    Read moreWeâre , admittedly, quite picky, and we were VERY impressed with Hubspoke Kitchen. Solid food, and particularly impressive given the price point. I would specifically note that the Detroit-style pizzas and clam chowder were standout. I would also note that we ordered the wood-fired wings and I was less than thrilled about those. Having said that, we will DEFINITELY be ordering again - weâre pretty happy with this Wallingford find :)
03/30/24 UPDATE: We are still very consistent patrons and continue to be impressed, but I wanted to share that we had a group of 12 over last night for a big game night and were really pleased by the Group Order feature. Across the whole group, something was ordered from all six kitchens available. I donât know if Iâm on a string of bad luck with Uber Eats but this one is on the restaurant staff, I ordered a BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich with Memphis Sweet Sauce on the side, Coffee milkshake and banana pudding. The milkshake and banana pudding were great but why would the restaurant staff pack my sandwich up including my straw spoon and napkins but forget the bbq sauce for my sandwich and the receipt for the food is right on top that says bbq on the side? Of course tried letting uber eats know that I was missing an item they said I couldnât get a refund due to policies. So I spent 10.00 for a dry pork sandwich that I couldnât even...
