From the beginning every pizza I ordered was amazing. Truly. Perfectly cooked. Great taste. Visually stunning. But nowâŚ. Idk what has happened. In only a short time itâs already gone down hill. I donât get it. Two times ago I ordered pizza and it was straight burnt. Like inedible. I thought they were having an off day. Although to be honest Iâve worked in restaurants my entire life and if you see you desecrated a pizza you start over. Not serve it to a customer whoâs paying top dollar. Theyâre quite pricey which normally is a non issue bc Iâd rather pay more for an amazing pizza than less for a pile of junk. The last time I got the pizza it was undercook and flabby. Again I thought .. maybe they were so busy they werenât paying attention. Or maybe bc it was earlier in the day and the ovens werenât hot enough yet. Either way Iâve had it enough times to chalk it up as a fluke. So today I decide to order it again. I even told the girl taking the order about the last two times I ordered and how Iâd really appreciate it if they could make sure it was done correctly. Charred but not burnt and not undercooked. She was very sweet and said absolutely I know exactly what you mean. Ok perfect! I go and pick up my pizza and not only is it not cooked correctly, but it looks as if it was made last night. You know how pizza looks the next day. It didnât look fresh. The cheese wasnât melty. It wasnât even warm. It sincerely looked like a pizza they made the day before and saved it for the next day not wanting to throw it away wasting $$. It wasnât cheesy but dry. The crust looked like it was cooked ok but just by the skin of its teeth. Itâs nothing like it used to be. Idk if theyâre cutting corners or have a new cook but they need to go back to the original way bc this is not good. And again, theyâre on the expensive side. $17 for a small pizza is a lot of money. Itâs bread sauce and cheese. I got half pepperoni. But still, that should be like $12. I donât mind paying more when itâs delicious but this was something I coulda gotten anywhere. Itâs too bad bc they used to be amazing. I donât enjoy writing bad reviews but Iâm really bummed. And the pictures they post on the Wallingford fb forum always look so amazing. Every pie that leaves the building should look like those photos. We eat with our eyes first so when something doesnât look right it automatically tells your brain it isnât good. I gave it 3 stars bc I know what it could be and what it once was but if I based it solely off todays plus the last 2 visits they would have gotten 1 âď¸. I tried to give them a fair chance to recover but this is now 3 strikes. Please do better. You were the best around. Itâs very...
Read moreThis place has the foundation to be a great place for thin crust pizza. The sauce and cheese balance flavor was great. Let me preface this with saying the rest. I enjoy a pizza with a char or crisp crust. There's a saying it's not burnt it's well done. Iin this case it's a bit beyond char. This is just burnt crust in most places. The image of the garlic bread really details the burntness. On the left you can see a good crisp char on the right you see it's clearly burnt bread. The pizza has the same issue some minor char but mostly just a burnt black crust.
Get that char balance figured out and you've got a great contender for thin crust...
Read moreJust tried this spot for the first time. Ordered the fresh tomato and the eggplant special pie. Both pies were cooked extremely well, perfect for New Haven style. The prices are a bit high for what I would call a medium size pizza (16â large). Also, there was a lack of taste⌠just bland. Itâs like there wasnât enough garlic or oregano just overall taste to the pizza. I had high hopes when I saw the pies and how good they looked. The taste wasnât there though. Probably wonât go back but I hope they continue and figure things out better. They definitely know how...
