1889 Taphouse — Restaurant in Walnut Cove

After months of being patrons to this establishment, I doubt we will be returning anytime soon. The bartender with shorter hair is always a little "grumpy" but she's was so disgustingly rude to everyone on Friday night. I know they were busy, but if you're nice most people can be patient because they see you're busy. Treating the whole place like an inconvenience and acting like a hateful bridge troll isn't welcoming and no one enjoyed interacting with the staff. They were refusing to make drinks- which are on their menu- not because they were out of ingredients, but because it would take a minute to make and she didn't want to make them. Take them off the menu if you don't want to make them. She was screaming and cussing at customers to shut up so she could "think". Literally told some guy to STFU. I was standing next to a couple and they weren't even talking to her, they were talking to each other and the short haired one yelled at them.. Both bartenders seemed to only want to take drink orders from men. We had to have the guys go inside and order for us because every time we went to the bar, the blonde would take our order and then walk away and take a guys order, but forget to get ours. It wasn't just me, but my friends also got ignored and had to send their boyfriends in to get drinks. What a gem! Walnut Cove keeps getting better and better and in large part due to the efforts of Adriana and Keelan Jones! It's a great place, with intentional design and thought to preserve the old and blend it with the new. The quality of a place like this is rarely found in small town USA. This will be a place for people from all over to come...

I walked in with my husband to check out a new spot outside of the city.

TOTALLY WORTH THE 30 minute drive from Greensboro.

The place is super clean. Service is amazing- great gal behind the bar! She’s super attentive and so welcoming. Absolutely love her immediately!
