Rita's — Restaurant in Walpole

This was our first visit to Rita's, and for all the hype I have heard, it was a bit of shock and disappointment. On the positive side, the vanilla custard is very good. Now, for what I ordered and what they charge is where the shock and disappointment come in. I ordered a cookies and cream concrete, which is very similar to a Dairy Queen Blizzard. However, this only comes in one size and is almost $10 with tax. First off, the size you get for the price is RIDICULOUS... and not in a good way. This realistically could be eaten in like 6 spoonfuls. It wasn't even filled to the top of the small cup it came in. And then on top of that, they put a huge amount of hot fudge in the middle of it, melting all the custard, so your left with custard soup with oreo pieces in it. I have been to several different Rita’s up and down the east coast, and it always surprised me how people didn’t know how much better custard was the ice cream. It also bothered me when people said they never had any Rita’s because I know how delicious those treats were. Thanks to someone we have our first and only Rita’s in Massachusetts, and I could not be any happier I hope and pray the staff take good care of this establishment so we don’t have to lose it, this will be a game changer! Rita’s is awesome! I’ve heard great things about it and have always wanted to stop by. Today was the day! Rita’s is located in a cute little strip mall in a convenient location and the service was impeccable.

I took my little cousin and she ordered the mango ice and vanilla custard gelati. I had the Swedish fish and blue raspberry ice. The Swedish fish tasted exactly like the candy while I enjoyed the blue raspberry it wasn’t as tart as I thought it would be. That’s not a bad thing though! The gelati was also excellent.
