I was there for lunch with a friend of mine this week. She got the hamburger. I got the club no mayo. The thinner lady in the kitchen brings the food out, says that she just read the ticket again and saw it said no mayo so she scraped the mayo off the sandwich. I was like you scraped the mayo off? and looked at the sandwich and sure enough there was mayo still on the bread. I said can I get different bread at least because yes I hate mayo that much. She asked me was I allergic to mayo. I said no I just hate the taste and the smell. So she says ok she'll get bread and goes back to the kitchen. I started to take the bread off the sandwich and saw there was mayo on the undersides of the meat so I waited for her to come back with bread, she didn't, so I took the plate to the kitchen and said I'm just going to give this back to you, there's mayo all over the meat too. She looks at me like I'm from Mars like lady it's just mayo. Yes I get it, it's just mayo but I ordered no mayo, you even said yourself you read no mayo on the ticket after you put mayo on it, so really it should be re-made. Anyway, 10 minutes later she comes out asking me did I want cheese or was I allergic to cheese. Where did this allergy reference even come from? I ordered a club no mayo. Nothing about allergies. She said it snarky and was trying to express that she thought it was ridiculous that I wasn't happy with a no mayo sandwich that had mayo even though she attempted to scrape the mayo off the bread. So she goes back in the kitchen and 10 minutes later I get a wet sandwich so I suppose she ran the meat under the faucet to rinse it off. At that point I was completely done and even my friend was saying it was unbelievable that kitchen staff thought any of that was ok. So my friend ate 3 bites of her hamburger and said it was awful, didn't know what kind of frozen patty it was but it was not good. And you'll of course think I'm complaining just to be complaining but the place was dirty, not at all busy and we were there for an hour. Those 3 seat cushions in the front window are filthy. Our table top was sticky and half wiped down. It was just gross start to finish. We've been there a handful of times but this was just a hot mess all the way around. As an owner, there are things I would imagine you would want to address. And yes we paid, this is not even remotely about money or complaining after we ate. The sandwich had one bite out of it, the hamburger 3 bites out of it. That wasn't the point even though it was a waste of money and we needed to then go have lunch somewhere else. The one positive was that the young girl working the counter was friendly...
Read moreExcellent food! Even though this bakery and CafĂ© has been open 2 years, I just found out about it yesterday and I had go today. We arrived shortly after 12 oâclock on a Wednesday for lunch. My husband ordered a hash bowl breakfast item and I ordered a BLT and cheese. Orders were out in less than 10 minutes, very fresh and perfect. Tasted great. Plus they have Coke products which my husband appreciates. I also ate a blueberry donut while I was there and it had to be the best blueberry donut Iâve ever had. I ordered a Bismark for the evening⊠for anyone who has eaten a Graeterâs Bismark donut, which is usually the best around⊠this was equivalent to or better than Graeterâs. It had a plethora of custard inside, and the chocolate icing was exquisite. The sandwiches run around $10 and the donuts appear to be $2 - $3. The higher quality of food is worth the cost to me. I was a bit disappointed in the credit card transaction because they charged a $.99 fee to use the credit card to offset their credit card charges. In the future, I will take cash. I have already planned another visit for a week from now. The owner actually asked me how I was doing which surprised me, because you donât see great customer service nowadays much. They have a number of tables where you can eat inside. The biggest problem would be parking on a busy day, as adjacent parking lots are closed up with private property signs on them. So you need to find a place on the street and during a busy time it would be difficult. I will be frequenting this bakery/cafe often. Very pleased with the experience. I am taking my...
Read moreI went in on a Sunday and their website and sign said they were open for lunch, but apparently they were closing at noon that day for some reason. Got there at 11:50 and the young girl and guy at the counter assured me it was fine. I said I would eat outside or get it to go and was assured it was fine to eat outside. But when I went to pay and the girl handed the ticket to the older lady in the back, she huffed, âWe shouldnât even be doing this!!â I told them to forget it, that I would take my business elsewhere and I had no idea they were closing at noon before I came in. The older lady tried to back track and say she would make it (didnât apologize, though), and I again told her to forget it and walked out. Reading through these reviews, apparently Iâm not the first customer subjected to this ladyâs rude behavior.
Also, I looked at the menu and was told that to make a plain grilled cheese that costs $5.50 into a âmealâ that includes a bag of chips, a bottle of water, and a cookie was $16. Which was the same price it costs to make a $10 BLT a âmeal.â Make it make sense. But, I was starving and willing to pay whatever for lunch until I was subjected to the attitude of the lady in the kitchen. Giving 2 stars and not 1 because the young folks at the counter were very nice and the pastries looked good. Unfortunately, I wonât be...
