A comedy of errors starting with the reservation. Called and mentioned we had a large party (8) and wondered if they could accommodate us on the deck. We arrived and they told us they were expecting a party of 2, but they could seat us “dockside”. Little did we know dockside meant 100 yards away from the restaurant on picnic tables… Being a nice evening, our party decided to try to make the best of it. Things went downhill from there.
Now, I won’t mention our server by name because I truly believe the problem was really poor training. If I owned this place, I’d be embarrassed. The server was under 18 and explained he could not make our drinks and had to wait for the bartender to make them. An odd comment that made sense when it took 30 minutes to get our drinks. We didn’t see our server again in that time either. When he came back, he was apologetic but felt like he had no control over the situation. He probably didn’t. we urgently placed our appetizers and main course. We thought things were settling in when the apps came out in a somewhat reasonable time. Food was good. Main entrees took forever and then came out piecemeal with a big gap in between people getting their meals. The server, thinking mission accomplished began flirting with other staff. We had to let him know 10 minutes after food started to arrive, one of our party was missing her meal. A soup bowl, which literally just needed to be ladled into a bread bowl. This stumped our waiter and he forgot our next rounds of drinks. Again, really bad or severely lacking training from management. The kid was nice enough, he just wasn’t setup for success. Other staff watched him flounder and didn’t offer him any help. Sad that the food was actually decent. Avoid this place, much better options a stone’s throw away.

Read moreWell went for dinner on 7/16/24 with a 5:30 reservation. We were seated promptly, of course it was early, and Sean came and introduced himself as our waiter. There were 4 of us 2 couples we ordered a water, a coke, glass of wine, and a Kettle 1 martini straight up wit a twist. The coke and water were served in an 8oz plastic tumbler, the wine in a 5 oz glass an inch from the top, and the martini in a rocks glass with no twist. For a place with above average prices I expected a little more. I mean what restaurant doesn’t have a stemmed martini glass.
Ok on two dinner, Sean brought out two plates, then disappeared for a few minutes, then brought out another plate, and told me mine would be ready in a minute. The others were 1/2 done when my meal arrived. He also didn’t bring my wife her veggies but she is too kind to say so. He also brought 4 slices of bread, we all has a piece but we’re never offered more. One of the others was done first and Sean promptly cleared their plate while we were still eating. The food was OK nothing to die over. It is important to have a properly trained staff, that was not the case here. Perhaps they think young girls in tiny skirts/ shorts makes up for the lack of service, it does not.
As a side note I private messaged them and...
Read moreExcellent stuffies, Sysco chowder (but damn near everyone has it as their base for New England chowdah), and calamari that came with chourico and red peppers, which was interesting but tasted lackluster, but the coconut shrimp was slammin' ... we honestly weren't expecting much, it's the end of the season, there was the ubiquitous "help wanted - all positions" out front, and being old seasonal restaurant/resort veterans we know the drill, so a lot can be forgiven and it was. Our waitress - the lone worker on duty at the time, and I do mean LONE (dunno if she was washing dishes too) was fielding calls when we came in and signalled for us to sit any damn place we wanted, so we hit the back deck overlooking the Stonebridge Marina. By the the time we left, we had been joined by 4 other tables, 15 orders in all, which this awesome woman handled with polite aplomb and without once dropping her pleasant demeanor (or cool) - hell, even the (THE?) cook got in on the act and lent a helping hand! Overall, an enjoyable visit, a good meal with some standouts and some forgiveable (to us) misses, and awesome service when the chips we're down - we'll visit again in high season to see this place firing on...
