We had a delightful experience with Trinity Confections' High Tea service. From the moment that I contacted Janine through receiving our check, we were treated with kindness and respect, even in the face of a reservation that included diners that required gluten free and nut free options, as well as one that required Janine to orchestrate a variation on her tea service due to the lengthy list of limitations that the specific diner required.
The interior of Trinity Confections' reminded me of a cozy dining room. It conjured instant images of Christmases with my parents :) The chairs, wicker with a ladder back, fit the decor, but were not as comfortable for folks that had back or hip issues. This was remedied in part by folks bringing their own cushions.
Food wise, the carrot ginger soup and quiche - the main components that made this High Tea instead of Afternoon Tea in my eyes - were highlights. The soup had the perfect texture and a pleasant flavour, while the egg of the quiche was light and fluffy and the crust? I could not ask for better.
The tea tower's highlights were a prosciutto and apple canape, a strawberry canape, the iced spice cookies, the cupcakes, and chocolate truffles. The cupcakes in particular were worth noting - they appear somewhat heavy in photos when in fact they are light as air - the sponge is very tender and the frosting is incredibly light - they were not as decadent as I was expecting, but they also very good, so there is a mismatch between my expectations based on the photos I've seen and the actual experience In had eating one.
What did I not like?
The chicken salad sandwich missed the mark for me; the orange flavor didn't add much to the experience and the chicken itself was fairly low-key - this is where I found myself thinking that this little bite was more Afternoon Tea than High Tea in my mind. I felt like the scones were on the small side, and I found the lack of jam and/or clotted cream to be odd. All told, I'd say that these are minor quibbles.
I'd definitely recommend Trinity Confections and encourage you to...
Read moreI brought my oldest daughter her best friend and one of my best friends for high tea. It was wonderful. The food was scrumptious and the tea was splendid, and always the perfect temp. I did expect a bit more in the ambience feel to go along with the delectable finger foods and the charming quaintness. Maybe yellow lighting to warm up the ambience and some vines and flowers or something suspended. Also we dressed up with fashion lace hats and lace gloves-I wish it was something everyone wanted to do for such a fancy tea time. Lol Jeanine was warm, attentive, friendly and Helpful. I am booking again For January tea-turned out to be a great Christmas present in the form of my love to share with some special...
Read moreThis beautiful and calming little tea room was absolutely amazing! I NEVER write reviews but actually sought this business out online to write one after visiting the location yesterday. Our host and her daughters were kind, attentive, and just downright lovely. She recommended a tea to start which was fabulous (I had 5 cups). The soup was DELICIOUS, the quiche was HEAVENLY, and the desserts were absolutely AMAZING! All the food and its presentation were so well thought out and could've been some of the most scrumptious I've ever tasted! I would recommend this particular tea room to anyone and will certainly drive past a few others to go back to this one in the near future! Highly...
