There are limited options when driving between the Bay Area and SoCal on the I-5. I thought I'd chance trying a taco truck and decided to try El Dollar Taqueria near Hernandez Tires, but left wishing I had just stopped at an in-n-out or McDonald's. First, it took a few minutes for the cashier to take our order because they were talking and laughing with another employee and didn't acknowledge us. Then, we realized everything we ordered was charged more than what was posted on the menu. Then it got even more disappointing when we got our food! We ordered a few burritos (carne asada, pollo, and tripas) and an enchilada. While I appreciate the burritos were generously packed with meat, the meats were unseasoned, dry, and tough. You definitely needed some salsa to help eat those burritos. The cheese enchilada was also disappointing. I've never had an "enchilada" like this before. It was basically a red tortilla topped with shredded lettuce, tomatoes, and crema. I would not recommend this to satisfy your Mexican...
Read moreAMAZING! Hands down some of the best Mexican I have ever had! Due to some of the not great reviews and the location when I arrived, me and my family were sceptical and I was the only one that actually wanted to eat here, everyone else was insisting we don’t but I begged and we got food here and OMG it was amazing! Better then 95% or Mexican restaurants! You watch them make your tortillas fresh, they grab dough and press and shape it by hand and then cook it and voilà you’ve got yourself a fresh, authentic, corn tortilla! All the meet was made fresh and they were amazing with getting orders perfect and if u asked for substitutions they were happy to do them! Costumer service was really good, everyone was polite and u could see them making everything and washing their hands, which they did consistently and were very good with ensuring no cross contamination! Overall everything was absolutely amazing and we even went back...
Read moreI know this place holds a majority rating on the higher side but I caution you in dining here. The prices are ridiculously unreasonable, the service is slow, & the staff is not friendly/rude. The food is ok, but nearly $4 for a street taco?! $19 for a burrito?! This is a taco truck, not a higher end full-service sit down establishment! I waited 20+ minutes for my order & spent over $30 for not much to eat. I think they feel their prices can follow recent fuel trends! As a business owner myself, the combination of prices, service, & less than mediocre food quality, I don’t see this place surviving! Even the name of this place is a blatant joke. Lost Hills is right off the freeway & packed with other options, save your time, money, & self respect, dine somewhere else & thank yourself later for following the advice...
