We finally tried out the new Bel Air restaurant tonight. The food was good and the place looked really nice inside and outside. It is a big improvement on how the Woodside used to look like when it was located here.
It was a bit confusing upon entering, as we didn't know how it worked inside, but luckily an employee explained it to us. You go to the left, and take a menu yourself, then when you know what you want, you go to the register on the left of the ice cream to order. After ordering, you find a table, and then they somehow track you down to bring you your food. It's not a full service restaurant with table service, but employees walking by did take our unused tray and ask how the food was. There is a tip jar by the register.
The burgers were good and the french fries were really good. They charge for all extras on the burgers, including $.60 for pickle! Luckily, they didn't charge for the ketchup and mustard.... I paid for pickles on my burger, but I found out that they put a couple of dill pickle slices in everyone's basket with the french fries. My son had ice cream with his kids meal and it was quite good, as they carry Hershey's brand ice cream. Oddly the kid's meal came with ice cream, but no beverage. Prices were decent. Not as cheap as McDonalds, but in line with Goody'z which is just up the street. Burgers come with chips, but french fries are $1.50 more, and worth it.
I have scanned the take out menu and attached it to this review, along with a few pictures...
Read moreFirst off, why would you close for the winter? You basically gave the impression that your place tanked and closed its doors for good!
My friends and co-workers recommended this place to me, which is surprisingly close to where I live at. I tried it out a few times and all of my visits were good. I liked their 50's vibe and the Chevy Bel-Air on the roof. It needs a scan of the menu so people know what they're ordering if they order take-out. Other than that, the place does have a good variety of burgers and ice cream. The staff are friendly and your orders are done in a timely fashion, just enough for you to soak in the environment you are in.
It deserves more recognition for what it deserves and I hope my review helps drive more sales for this place. Local restaurants deserve to stand out because it represents the town...
Read moreFound this place by accident today when we passed our destination. Glad we stopped by. Really cool 60's burger joint feel. Apparently the owner really loves his/her Chevrolet's because that's the only brand I saw. As a motorhead, I would have liked to see some representation from the other American brands, and even the defunct ones (AMC, Studebaker, Pontiac, Plymouth) would be really unique.
Excellent food and service. Really loved the hand cut fries and milk shake. My wife and I both had burgers and they were also very good. We saw several things in the menu that looked good, so we will definitely be stopping back with the kids next time. They will really get a kick out of the 57 Chevy on the roof of the building.
Highly recommend checking this place out, just wear...
