Truly enjoyed finding this spot, the conversation with the owner and the quality of food! Nestled within a part of town not known for many good things this is a hidden gem and community haven. The work that they are doing to support the community is wholesome and awesome in itself.
Now to the food: ordered three orders of wings, two orders of fries, the double burger with cheese, salmon bites, strawberry cheesecake and strawberry lemonade. Everything was very fresh and delicious. One order of wings I saved until later and they heated up very well.

Located in Ward 7's Civic Betterment neighborhood, Bird's Kitchen is worth the drive. Park along the street and walk into the no-frills, takeout-only restaurant. Likely, you'll meet Miss Birdie (the co-owner and chef). Her story is inspiring. (She wants to encourage more foot traffic in the neighborhood.) And her food homemade.
