The food is really, really good. My husband and I have been with our toddler several times and we have always been satisfied with the food.
HOWEVER.
This place is NOT family friendly AT ALL.
there is no changing table in the restroom. My kid had a blowout and I changed her on a pad on the counter. The bathroom is certainly large enough for a changing table and it is inexcusable that they do not.
they have a sign saying kids eat free on Sunday, but attempted to dissuade us from ordering a meal for our child a few weeks ago because "what you ordered comes with a lot of food, so you should just share with her". UMM NO. We asked for a separate meal for her. We do NOT need you telling us what to feed our child, thank you.
last Wednesday, I went with a friend of mine and her nearly 9 month old son. We both ordered meals for our kids. Her son is learning how to self feed and my 1.5 year old is working so hard on using utensils and is adamantly independent. Needless to say, they were making a mess (that we of course fully intended to clean!). We received many dirty looks during the course of our meal and I personally overheard a staff member tell his coworker that they should put a sign on the door stating they are no longer serving children. Our two kids were the only two in the restaurant at the time, so it was obviously about them. They weren't misbehaving or loud and were simply making a mess. It was all I could do to keep my mouth shut. Our children are human beings who deserve kindness and patience while they learn how to function on their own. We cleaned up after them when they were finished eating and left.
As much as I love their food, I cannot and will not give my hard earned money to an establishment who has zero respect for it's customers, whether young or old. Absolutely unacceptable behavior...
Read moreFood is alright, typical style food you get at any of your local Mexican restaurants.
Would however avoid paying with cash or double checking your waiter/waitress. Went there for lunch today and received the incorrect change on two of orders. When approached about it, the waitress proceeded to tell us "We don't typically have change". After telling her we wanted the correct change, she then proceeded to say she'd have to get a manager. After this was said and done, one of us received $0.05 more than what we were supposed to get back.
I mean come on now, you have to get a manager over $0.80 in dimes, quarters and nickles?
Now, I understand that electronic payment is always an option, but it puts into question the truthfulness of this waitress. Was there really no change to be given? And if so, why wasn't it stated or posted when entering.
But yeah, long story short, check your change. If you don't mind filling someone else's change jar, then be my guest and just carry-on...
Read moreThis was my first visit to Blue Margaritas. I went for an impromptu dinner after visiting an estate sale in Washington with a friend who had previously visited the Townline Rd location. I expected the standard pseudo-Mexican fare found in almost every other "Mexican" restaurant in Peoria, with numbered combination plates and a "Speedy Gonzalez" lunch special. I was pleasantly surprised. The menu was refreshing and original, with options not normally seen after numbers in a list. I ordered the Carne Azada, and I was not disappointed. Served sizzling with grilled onions and green peppers, the skirt steak was graciously seasoned and cooked to perfection. Also served with the steak were the standard accouterments and fresh, hot corn tortillas. The food was excellent and the service pristine. Our waitress checked in with us every couple of minutes. I will be dining here again and I recommend anyone else...
