Thought we would give this place a 2nd chance because we all have off days - shame on us. The first time around we were missing several items, the bbq salad was iceberg lettuce with cold meat slapped on top, several items were burnt, overcooked, and pizza was bland, chef boyardee style - something out of a microwave. Spent $120 on 4 meals and an appetizer only to get cursed at, spoke to extremely unprofessionally, and treated like we were the problem by the woman who claimed to be the owner when we called and asked for a few things to be corrected. Apparently being short staffed and one of the only sit down restaurants is justification for missing items, bad meals, and even worse customer service. After she got very aggressive, we wished her good luck and vowed to not return. Fast forward a year later and the same story - brisket was HORRIBLE. Dry, overcooked, really bland. Beans were stale, had to be days old and arrived cold. Coleslaw had a chemical, almost bleach taste. They did not send BBQ sauce for any of the 3 meals ordered even though we were prompted to choose bbq sauce type. Ranch fries were cold and plain - not ranch at all. Place was empty on a sunday evening so no rush / busy excuse. I do not understand how this place is still open with all the bad reviews here and from family / friends but hope to see a change in the future.
*edited to add- clearly an ongoing issue with customer service as the owner is referring to someone else entirely in their response. Not only do we have the upmost respect for the service industry and our complaints were never aimed towards them, our conversation was very respectful and we were only transferred to the owner after a pleasant exchange with 1 person who answered the phone and simply did not know the menu and could not provide clarity to what was missing. Unless asking what was supposed to be on a salad made a server cry, you got the wrong upset customer. And if you knew someone left something on the counter, why was this not shared during a follow up call or even a proactive call to the customer letting them know? Interesting way to run a business. Maybe spending less time being combative on the internet and phone and more time training staff properly, hiring enough of them, and revamping some menu items or recipe to ensure quality in the future would be a better use of one's time. Good luck to this small business! Would love to see them take candid feedback to improve future...
Read moreWe love good food. We also love a good experience. We received neither on this Sunday afternoon. Although the service staff was trying hard, they were unfortunately set up for failure. I ordered a cherry in my daughter's lemonade.. the server informed us that they were out and have been for weeks. What?! This is a bar/restaurant. Upon ordering a second drink, my "new" glass had lip marks all over it. Coming from f&b, I know automatic dishwashers don't always remove this, but it should have been spotted before the wine was poured. 3 televisions (the only ones we could see) were off or not working. Service staff standing on the bar, knocking off bottles, trying to fix one.. workers comp nightmare. Upon ordering, they did not have any soup or croutons for salad.. fair enough, they aren't on the menu. Caesar salad served with iceberg lettuce... what?! My daughters cheese pizza? Let's just say I didn't keep the leftovers.
We won't be coming back, unfortunately. My opinion? Terribly mismanaged.
I wish I could throw in a positive, but we didn't see one.
Hopefully they do better.
Edit: Upon reading the response from my review, I'll add "extremely childish and unprofessional" as well! Holy cow!
As a business owner, you should not take offense to a bad review. You obviously did, and upon reading some other negative reviews, this isn't the first time you responded so childishly!
It's amazing a place with ownership like this stays in business! Did you want to add a snooty response to my dirty wine glass as well?
We will never be back nor recommend this place to others.
Absolutely terrible!
You said you can't keep good help, and with ownership like that, it's...

From the moment I stepped inside, I knew I was in for a treat! The cozy, creatively decorated atmosphere—with its charming little shack and a collection of antiques—made me feel like I had wandered into a BBQ wonderland. 🏡✨ And then… THE SMELL. The sweet, smoky aroma of hardwood smoke wrapped around me like a warm hug. If deliciousness had a scent, this would be it.
💨 The Food? Oh, baby… Let’s talk onion rings. These weren’t just onion rings; they were a tower of golden perfection! 🏆 Sweet onions, freshly cut and hand-battered to crispy glory, paired with garlic aïoli that dreams are made of. I may or may not have considered licking the bowl… no judgment, please. 🤭
Now, for the MAIN EVENT—the hand-breaded pork tenderloin. 🍽️ Let me tell you, I have never had one quite like this! The crunch? PERFECT. The seasoning? ON POINT. If there were a tenderloin Olympics, this one would be taking home the gold medal. 🏅 Trust me, I’m in multiple Facebook tenderloin groups (yes, that’s a thing), and this one is legendary.
🍺 Drinks & More Whether you’re into draft beers, domestics, or fancy cocktails, Brickhouse has you covered! Their drink selection is solid, and their menu is loaded with BBQ goodness, mouthwatering burgers, and perfectly smoked meats.
If you love great food, great vibes, and a friendly staff that makes you feel at home, this is your spot. 10/10 recommend! 👍
