I used to love this place when i moved to the island in 2015. To this day i appreciate the peanut sauce and black rice pudding. My last two or three times I've eaten here have been disappointing. From undercooked doughy fried spring rolls to clear communication being ignored, spending around $50 on multiple entrees asking for certain vegetables paying extra for them to receive two or three pieces, asking for 4 and 5 stars of spice and not getting even a 2, then most recently explaining asking for extra spice on the side so I can adjust in case there is another miscommunication. This resulted in me being assured they will put two powder containers in my order. When i was surprised by no spice once again in an eggplant dish, a tom kha and a curry, i used the powders i was given and it turned out to be CHIPOTLE powder which completely changed the flavor profile. I understand that there are young adults and teenagers working here and I've always loved that and supported it but what gives? If a customer says anything above 3 stars does that mean there ought to be a pepper or two cooked? I used to get spiciness here and paying that amount of money makes me question if I want to continue having this experience. No Disrespect here just wishing a restaurant to get back to upholding the standard they set for themselves. I am thankful they have vegan options as wel but once again flavor...
Read moreI’m updating my review, and we accept your apology wholeheartedly. We all have bad days, and the truth is we would have missed your food! We’ve been regular customers of this place since they opened. We live a couple of miles away, receive our mail at the IGA, and get take out when I strongly request a night off from cooking. Yesterday my husband went to pick up our favorites – crab rangoon, pad thai, and panang curry. He found a frequent customer card in his wallet, completely filled, and presented it to the cashier. The cashier brought the owner out from the back who exasperatedly told him the card hadn’t been good since 2017, and accusingly asked if he had more of them at home! Is she crazy?? Yes, dear, we retired and now spend our time printing up your cards and filling them with stamps so that we can receive a free crab rangoon every month. The food is passable, the business practices of the owner are not. The only person I feel sorry for is my husband, who now has to travel into Stanwood when I demand a night off from cooking. We frequented the take out restaurant in this spot before it was Thai food, and we’ll return when something new...
Read moreTucked inside the IGA, Camano Thai is an absolute gem. Our food is always ready right on time (like any restaurant in the world it’s best to give them some wiggle room at peak hours). Whomever is running the register is always a delight. I dare say this place is in my top three favorite restaurants on the island. The curries are excellent. The Pad Thai is perfect. The pad see ew is wonderful. Soups y’all, the soups are excellent. Which brings me to my new favorite: the pho is absolutely superb, and it’s packaged perfectly (hot stuff separate from the cold). I highly recommend this for your next takeout dinner or lunch. If you show up and your food isn’t ready, be patient, take a walk around the store. You’re...
