If I could give this place zero stars I would. We waited over an hour for an order that was supposed to take 30-40 min. In addition, most of the food was spilled in the bag and we spent over 10 minutes just trying to clean it up because the sauces got all over our room and clothes. We ended up being late to our event, which made us seem very unprofessional and given that this order was over $70 we expected good food and service. Instead we got the opposite. The website said the food would take 30-40 minutes, and that there was no delivery fee, however it took an hour to get to us and we were still charged a delivery fee. We called the restaurant to express our concerns and asked for a manager but we ended up talking to the man who delivered our food. After having to describe our situation multiple times, he was rude and condescending, and said he would only give us a partial refund if we gave him back all of the food uneaten. Dont bother ordering from here unless you want to wait an hour for expensive, cold food and...
Read moreLet’s try to be realistic with expectations. No the food is is regular Chinese food, and i recommend to stick with chicken. No its not a hidden treasure of DC, but its a regular place if you want regular tasting Chinese.
In my order, they forgot the fried rice. I called them, they initially denied I ordered it, but since it was physically written down on my receipt and I had proof, the chef guy changed his tune and were nice enough to rush deliver it to my house. My food only took 20 minutes to pick up and about 7 to deliver the fried rice and was so fast.
Food: The ORANGE CHICKEN WAS PRETTY GOOD. STEAMED DUMPLINGS GOOD. THE SWEET AND SOUR SOUP GOOD. PU PU PLATTER GOOD. They make things with chicken pretty good, their beef isn’t that tender. The fried rice is ehhhhhhh not great on its own (and i was getting a strong taste from the peas) but if you throw a bunch of things on top you barely taste it anyways. Average rating for an average place. Nice people....
Read moreWanted to try out a different place, and I recommend trying somewhere else. We ordered steamed dumplings, cold sesame noodles, chicken and beef combo, yu shion eggplant, and beef fried rice.
Pros: the steamed dumplings were some of the best I've had - very non traditional but delicious. The eggroll was also nice and crispy.
Neutrals: the food was bland. The chicken and beef combo should have been spicy, instead it just had some flavors of soy and ginger. The eggplant had no flavor at all, and the fried rice was extremely under seasoned.
Cons: the eggplant was extremely greasy and still flavorless. The sauce for the dumplings was soyless, just faintly sweet and vinager-y. And the sesame noodles - tasted like honey peanut butter coated noodles, they were more of a dessert than an actual food.
I'd order their dumplings again, nothing else. Will...
