The older male waiter is horribly rude! My husband and I have been coming here for the last year, and the older head waiter has always been a bit rude, but nothing we couldn’t handle. We’ve always been regulars. Tonight I went with my two girlfriends, and I could not believe the manner in which we were spoken to. Condescending and patronizing would be an understatement. We’d been waiting for about 20min to order — no big deal! — and we asked the older gentleman waiter if we could order. He was clearly annoyed. So, we ordered appetizers and wine and tried to place our main course orders too (we’d had plenty of time to review the menu). He put a hand up to me, so I stopped speaking thinking he needed more time to finish writing down our appetizers. After a few moments, I tried to order my main course again. He cut me off again, putting his hand up to me, and said, “I don’t want to rush you to order.” And we said, “oh, it’s no worries, we are ready to put our mains in as well!” He then put a hand up to me a third time and said he would not be taking our main entree orders and abruptly left. It was sort of weird, but we shook it off. Anyway, we ended up placing our orders it with a different waitress and as we were eating our appetizers, he took it upon himself to come back to our table and extremely condescendingly said, “see this is the appetizer, once you’re done with that, you get the main course, that’s how that works.” I was pretty shocked and embarrassed that I had suggested this place to my friends. He’s never been that rude when my husband was with me, and now I wonder why he was so rude when it was a table of women. Anyway, the other waitstaff (a younger woman and man) were extremely kind and attentive. I can only hope they aren’t being mistreated by their superior the way he mistreated us tonight. As for the food, it is great. But I won’t go back, as I’m not paying that much money to be spoken to so rudely when I was nothing but kind and patient. Completely unacceptable and...
Read moreMy husband and I sat at the bar to eat last night - out for a great dinner on Saturday night. We started w a glass of italian wine on the menu for $14 and it was awful- flat and tasteless with no body at all. If you’re going to charge $14 for a glass of wine (irritatingly high prices for a glass across the board) it should at least be from a bottle that costs more than that glass. We then ordered 2 of the expensive entrees- veal chop parmesan and the seafood linguine. For the prices ($45 and $38) we were expecting great food. Both entrees seemed to have no seasoning at all - no flavor! Also the veal was overcooked and the pasta was far from al dente and this dish was flavorless - albeit the seafood was fresh and generous, but no flavors. My husband spoke out loud with me about how bad the wine was and how it was like water, and then spoke out about how bad the veal chop was. He usually will say nothing. He called out to bartender for salt and pepper which was hastily handed to him. The mgr was sitting 1 seat over from us at the bar and completely ignored our comments as she worked on something. The bartender never asked us how we liked the wine OR the food as we ate. We felt invisible. He came over after we were done - forks down - and asked “how’d it go?”. We spent over $100 on 2 very mediocre dishes and a bad glass of wine, not to mention the lack of service or attention. We won’t...
Read moreIt was my birthday dinner, so I certainly wanted to like the place. Photos make the place look chic and cozy, but in person the section we were seated was covered in kid’s drawings and doodles. Which made me feel overdressed for my own birthday dinner. Then came the service. It was sparse and we had 3 different people popping in and out. And not always in timely manner. The thing that stood out the most was the fact that the table ended up getting oil, crumbs and some food pieces on it (we were sharing apps and pulling items from each others plates) and not one person that served on us seemed interested in wiping it off. App plates were removed, but no one came back to tidy up. Entrees were served right on top of the mess by yet another server that ignored it, and that’s when I got annoyed and took the plates off myself and used my napkin to clean the whole table before setting the entrees back down. I set my napkin on the bench and asked the young lady to please grab me a clean one since the table needed cleaning so I had to use it. She just kinda looked at me confused and silently got me a new one. I would be mortified if my client told me they had to clean in order to enjoy my services. ( I am a nurse and providing tidy environment is important everywhere) Overall, for nearly $300 for dinner, it lacked any kind of pride in appearance and sheen that you’d expect. I am not in a huge hurry...
