If it was possible to give zero stars I would. This is not a family style restaurant like what is advertised it's straight up a BAR. Which wouldn't be bad if that's what you were expecting/looking for. But after driving around the olympic national forest all day, with my grand parents from out of town, this is not the family restaurant we were looking for but we wanted to try somewhere new and agreed to try it out anyway. The music was up so loud you had to yell to hear each other, NO self respecting parent would bring their kids here despite what the signs say for this place it is not kid friendly. Unluckily for us our kids were staying with thier other grandparents which means we didn't just immediately leave once walking in... The service was slow AF, there was indoor tables available and we sat down right away, staff gave no interest in us for 15 mins before we finally got menus. Still no drinks or even asked how we are doing/ need anything for another 15 mins before we decided to just leave. But as we were getting up to leave someone finally came over to get our drink/food order so we decided to give them a second chance... then proceeded to wait another 10 mins before they brought us our drinks. Which was 3 waters and a diet Pepsi... Then 10 more before food finally came.. the handful of fries were great but the "beer battered cod" was not cooked right for any of us the batter wasn't fully cooked and the surface was SOAKED in the grease, not to mention it was 3 pieces of frozen fish triangles from Walmart. At no point was refills for our drinks attempted or any extra service provide aside from the silverware that had to be requested. Then I had to wait at the bar for about 15 more minutes without acknowledgement before receiving a bill for $64.79 after tax before tip!!!! This was outrageous service but for f* sake it was a Sunday evening during pre season and no game was on and was not seated to capacity. NO reason for this slow service and overall terrible experience. Do not...
Read moreIt has taken me awhile to post this. My family and I own property in the area so we frequent Hoodsport often. I will not stop at the Model T again. In over 10+ years I have eaten there twice. The food is disgusting. I have never had a BLT on an untoasted hamburger bun. Gross. It was several years before I ate there again, so while in a hurry, I ordered grilled chicken salad. How can you screw up salad? For $7.99 I received a salad on small saucer size paper plate that had about 2 oz of chicken... maybe 2 oz. and lettuce. For $9.99 you can drive a few miles north to Eagle Creek Saloon and get 3 times the salad, with all the fixings. What a rip off. If you do want to stop, order beer or wine. Their mixed drinks are the weakest around. And, of course, over priced. At least with beer/wine you know what your getting. If you want to be over charged and under served, this is the place for you. When you visit and find yourself upset don't take it out on the bartenders. They are some of the nicest women. Management is the problem here. The owners are very hard on their staff, borderline abusive in my opinion. It's unfortunate that our economy is the way it is, these bartenders are kind of stuck. Tip them extra, they put up with more hell then anyone should in their place of employment. They catch crap from guests for the poor quality, and they catch crap from management. The Mexican restaurant down the street, El Puerto De Angeles, has good food, good drinks, good prices. That's a better alternative or go to Eagle Creek where you will never be disappointed. The burger place right across the street is a little over priced but the food is amazing. Any of these establishments are a better...
Read moreThe parking lot was so full that despite some challenges finding good food in Hoodsport, we decided to try this one on the way to the cabin.
It was loud. Ridiculously loud for the number of people in the building. Maybe that's nobody's fault, maybe it is. It certainly didn't enhance the experience.
The server took a bit long to get to us after delivering menus and, to her credit, admitted that she forgot about us. She was very cool about it and it hadn't been that long. This was a plus for me. That's a very courageous thing to do and she was very cool after that. I sincerely appreciated her.
The food...
Hoodsport is not really the place to go for food. This place is no different. Small burger patties that are underwhelming, even for a frozen quarter pound patty. The fish and chips just weren't good. Small filets that felt like the oil was too cool. That left me with thin, oily, mushy Cod that was far too small to have ever ended up good. The chips were okay, if a little bland and delivered not quite fresh.
My partner liked the pickles on her burger.
I'm sorry, Hoodsport, but anyone who is reading this should eat somewhere else.
EDIT: We decided to give it another try.
The wings tasted good, but Jaelynn(sorry if I spelled it wrong) was mistaken about the number of wings in the order, brought us the basket with fewer wings and said "He skimped ya. I'll throw the biggest tantrum ever...just kidding."
Never heard from her again, but I watched her NOT try to do anything about it until her shift was over 15-20 minutes later. This was after I had to chase her down to take my BLT order, which came with no mayo, despite the menu specifically saying it comes with...
