If Flaky Croissants and Coconut Dreams Had a Baby… It’d Be Born Here
If you’re looking for a hidden gem where flavor and aloha vibes punch you in the taste buds like a joyful luau in your mouth, Patrick’s Café & Bakery is it. Tucked away in White Center like a secret you don’t want to share (but I will because I’m generous like that), this place delivers a breakfast experience that should come with a warning label: “May cause spontaneous happy dancing.”
I was visiting a local friend who grew up in the area, and before my flight out, he casually said, “Let’s grab breakfast at this spot I love.” No biggie, right? Wrong. Biggie. This was culinary fireworks before 10 a.m.
Let’s talk food:
Spam and eggs? Going to be honest this is my first time ... Absolute island magic. Aloha on a plate.
The croissant? So flaky it could’ve been cast in a dandruff shampoo commercial. But unlike dandruff, you’ll want every golden shard of it in your mouth.
The cinnamon roll with coconut cream topping? I had a moment of silence after the first bite. It’s not your average sugar bomb. It’s smooth, classy, and the coconut’s just whispering sweet nothings into your soul ... And without the diabetic coma that would normally follow.
The shortbread cookies? Should be called long-bread cookies because they go the distance. Perfect texture, perfect sweetness, and dangerously snackable.
Oh, and the coffee? Worth sitting down, refilling, sipping, chatting, refilling again, and suddenly realizing you're now part of the regulars.
We even had half a dozen police officers posted up outside. You know what that means—this place is neighborhood-approved, cop-certified, and delicious enough to double as a peacekeeping mission.
Didn’t get to meet Patrick this time, but the legend is clearly alive in the vibe. Next time I’m flying into Seattle, I’m skipping airport coffee and heading straight here, rental car and all, to load up on goodies and bribe my hosts into letting me crash again.
Five stars. Zero regrets. Maximum flakes....
Read moreMy boyfriend wanted a pinapple upside down cake for his birthday. With it being November, I found this a difficult task even with living in Ballard where many reputable bakeries exist. I was met with so many "no's" until I came across Patrick's Bakery and Cafe. Patrick himself was warm and willing to make this special cake for me. I was already confident in his cake skills based upon previous reviews and endless amazing photos of his creations but I was absolutely blown away when I picked up my cake. Not only was the cake ready on time, it was made the same morning and was given to me hot and fresh from the oven. I was so pleased at how amazing the Cafe smelled in general and its warm and inviting atmosphere and staff. In my 32 years in Seattle, I have never been given a hot and fresh cake so this was such a special experience.
My boyfriend ended up absolutely LOVING this cake and said it reminded him of his childhood. You can tell that Patrick put love, care and passion into this cake and he was made to be a baker.
I am so grateful and honored to have found my new favorite bakery and will trust Patrick and his staff with any future cake orders. I cannot wait to come back and purchase other goodies soon.
Thank you again Patrick and staff for making this cake so special and really helping to make my boyfriends birthday one of the best he's had.
I would and will recommend this bakery to...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ One of my favorite coworkers has been wanting to check out this Hawaiian bakery and restaurant for a while now, so we finally drove out to Patrick’s Café and Bakery in West Seattle on a windy, rainy Friday—and wow, it was so worth it!
We were overwhelmed (in the best way) by all the ono choices, but we locked in our picks and lemme tell you—Island kine portions never disappoint! She got the Kalua Pork & Cabbage, while I went with the Egg Omelet with chili over two scoops of rice—total Zippy’s vibes! I even saved half for my son and told him, “Zippy’s kine chili,” and he inhaled it without hesitation 😂
Braddah Zeke took amazing care of us—friendly, welcoming, and even treated us to samples of Mama’s Coconut Cookies plus a sweet treat to take home. The Pineapple Scone was fluffy and perfectly balanced, and the Lilikoi Shortbread Cookies literally melted in my mouth! Their Bold Roast Coffee was complimentary, and we had like three cups each—so good!
Everything was absolutely onolicious, the service was full of aloha, and the vibes were warm and homey. Definitely living up to the hype! We’ll be back soon to try the cakes and order for my kids’ birthdays. Big mahalo to Braddah Zeke and the Patrick’s Café team for making our first visit so memorable. 🌺☕🍰 See you...
