Went to Peaches with family and friends for Sunday brunch. The service was HORRIBLE!!! There was only another table with 2 patrons and yet it took 10 minutes just to get menus. The person working the front (a heavyset woman) seemed more interested in interacting with her cell phone than dealing with patrons. We had a party of five (3 adults and 2 small children) and ordered bacon and sausage biscuits for the kids, kitchen scramble, salmon cakes, and saltfish and ackee. After ordering the wait for the food was so long that we opted to get the food to go. We waited as part of the order sat in the window due to the person working the front continuing to deal with her phone and her lack of attention to customers. After more than an hour wait (we arrived at 11:38 and didn't receive our order until 12:46) we got MOST of our order and had to leave in order to drop off a member of our party who had to travel and had to come back for the saltfish and ackee which wasn't ready before. With such a small crowd of patrons, 4 kitchen staff in the back, and eventually 2 counter people in the front (a second person came on shift while we waited who was no more attentive than the first) the should be NO EXCUSE for the slowness of the service and the lack of customer service/attention that we and others received on Sunday.
This was my FIRST time patronizing Peaches and I did so on the recommendation of a friend. I would hope that management/ownership will address these issues so that I and others would feel comfortable in returning to give the establishment another...
Read moreBy far the worst carribean soul food restaurant I’ve been to and as a foodie, I’ve been to a lot in the dmv. Completely disappointed, I had four different platters for four different people, and we were all disappointed. LOOKS GOOD AND THATS HOW THEY GET YOU . I wish I took a picture to show the difference, in especially how the macaroni and cheese looks compared to others. The macaroni and cheese was horrible, it was watery, no real flavor, it didn’t even taste like they made it, it tasted like someone at CRACKER BARELL made it. The greens and mashed potatoes were COMPLETELY BLAND no flavor , it was greasy and watery. The cheese did not stick to the noodles, BETTER OFF EATING PLAIN NOODLES fresh from the water. And the cashier did not listen to my order even after saying she did AND talking to me as if I could not comprehend and still gave me what I asked not to get. I just took the food because and my family was hungry enough for extra. BUT THE WAIT??? 35 minute. Average, but not when you’re waiting that long for food you can’t even enjoy and taste like no effort. Maybe it was the dishes we got that weren’t the restaurants specialties, just don’t get the greens, the Alfredo or the mashed potatoes. The chicken and salmon were good but sides just as good are...
Read moreI've never had a bad meal here and that's the reason they get 2 stars. I can't give a higher rating because of the service. I've called ahead of time (30 minutes because I know they are slow) and still got there and had to wait and additional 45 minutes. That an hour and 15 minutes for carry out. .
Even when my order was wrong (it has happened), I still didn't complain because the food is good.
I called to place an order. Admittedly it was close to quitting time, but I thought I'd try. Figured it wouldn't take them too long to fill my order since they would be closing soon. I was placed on hold (they actually put the phone down and I could hear what was going on in the background) and disconnected my call when another call came in. I called back to ask if I could place a carry out order and was told the oven cuts off at 5:30 and they weren't taking any more orders. I could have been told that when I called the first time; instead they make me wait 15 minutes then disconnect my call. It takes a simple minute to say - I'm sorry we are no longer taking orders.
I don't think I will be visiting Peaches Kitchen...
