Absolutely wonderful coffee shop! If you love coffee and want to sample some of the best -- and most local -- beans that DC has to offer, head over to Lost Sock Roasters for not only some of the most phenomenal coffee, but also delicious treats, outstandingly friendly service, and a great ambiance. I've made the six-mile trek up to Takoma countless times to visit Lost Sock, but this delightful shop makes the walk worthwhile every time (and they're also pretty close to the Takoma Metro Station if you decide to take a more efficient mode of transportation). The coffee is delightful and features the perfect harmony of sweet, nutty, acidic, and bitter flavor undertones. It isn't bitter or acidic to the point that you have to add milk or sugar, so I love getting an americano or perhaps a cortado to fully appreciate the deep aroma and robust flavor of the beans. Their coffee goes wonderfully with their variety of sweet and savory treats. Their pan de yuca are tiny, making them the perfect little light, two-bite snack, and the one with guava has a great hit of tangy and fruity flavor. For another small treat, I also love their spinach and feta empanada, which is served slightly warmed and has a generous portion of garlicky spinach, rich and deeply flavorful feta, and a lovely dipping sauce.

Beyond the outstanding food and drink, what really makes Lost Sock one of my favorite DC coffee shops is the people. The service is phenomenal, and the barista always welcomes people with such incredible warmth and enthusiasm. The shop is almost always incredibly busy, but the baristas still take the time to welcome people by name and ask about your day, and they never make you feel rushed or bad for asking questions about the menu. Given how crowded it can get, it's often tough to find a spot to sit, especially on the weekends. They do have a decent amount of both indoor and outdoor seating, so if you do manage to snag a spot, you'll soak in some of the wonderful natural lighting and dull roar of constant conversation and movement. It's also a popular spot for people to visit after grabbing a bite from Donut Run, so you'll plenty of the pink boxes floating around as well. I was afraid I would find it a bit overstimulating, but something about this shop is just so relaxing and laid back that I was able to focus on my book and enjoy my coffee even amidst...

Recently went to Lost Sock Roasters in Takoma Park for the first time to meet a colleague for coffee/tea. It was a late morning on a week day. Luckily, I was able to snag a parking space right across the street in front of Donut RunšŸ©šŸ˜‹, where the parking spaces are on a diagonal.

Lost Sock’s Roasters is a nice spot with a cozy and quaint vibe. Their menu got me from the start with an eclectic combination of traditional items with unique flavors for their small bites and all-day breakfast options.

Things like a guava pan de yuca various empanadas an Egglote Sando - egg breakfast sandwich on brioche with elote corn avocado toast with a twist where you can add a jammy egg and/or smoked salmon.

I’ve been wanted to try a jammy egg for a while, so when I saw that Lost Sock Roasters has an avocado toast, with pickled veggies & shallots and you can add smoked salmon, and/or a jammy egg, I opted go for the maximum flavor combo. It was delicious!!

My colleague ordered an empanada which she said tasted really good. It looked good too!

Since it is Lost Sock Roasters coffee is definitely a feature. Not being a coffee person, I was intrigued by their specialty drinks with unique flavors like a jasmine blossom latte or a passion fruit tonic, which you can also order with matcha, espresso or a house-made tonic.

I ordered the passion fruit matcha. I would definitely go back again just for this tropical and refreshing drink!

Lost Sock Roasters has seating both outside and inside. The vibe is very cozy and casual. It was pretty packed both in inside and out. You can tell it’s a popular place for to hang or work.

I liked Lost Sock Roasters. The staff were friendly; and they have cute merch including coffee and yes, socks!

I just discovered this coffee shop, which is only 3 minutes drive from my office! Why did I never know about them?? The few times I went on weekday mornings, there was always a line - but they are professional and make good coffee very fast!

After coming back from a trip to Savannah, GA, where a cup of coffee takes a looong time to make, I really appreciate the speed of coffee shops here in DC, hahaha šŸ˜…

I love trying local coffee shops despite not drinking coffee much. About once a week, I’ll enjoy a latte as treat. I’m more of a tea person.

I tried the Horchata latte, London Eye latte (Earl grey flavor, bergamot, vanilla), oat milk latte and regular latte with light simple syrup. They’re all very good, except for the Horchata, which is missing something. I’ve had amazing Horchata lattes in Los Angeles, so it’s hard to compare. But the other lattes are awesome! The coffee is very strong here too, so if you drink it in the afternoon, you may have a hard time falling asleep, like I did. šŸ˜‚ I purchased beans for my friend and she liked it so much, and bought beans to give to her friend.

I’ve always done takeout, but I see many people from businessmen to families with kids sitting at their tables. It’s a very diverse crowd.

Oh also, keep in mind that they’re closed on Mondays! I’ve made the mistake twice driving there on Mondays. šŸ˜‚

Update: I tried the lavender latte (homemade syrup), and it’s not too sweet, which is how I like it! The staff also remembered my name, which was a...

I love their london eye latte, which is just a london fog with espresso. I also really like buying their beans to make my own coffee at home.
