My husband took me to PLNT BURGER, an eatery in the center of one of the most influential cities of the American East Coast: Washington DC.
It's simple: if you've been hanging around West Virginia or Ocean City for a few days, then you've probably heard of this city. Personally I didn't know about it, but it's an ol geezer, Alfred Alexander, who told me to check out the American Big Smoke, as they call it around there.
We saw a movie - a despicable one - called "The Boy and the Hon" by the Ghibli workshop. My husband, afficionado of their cinematographic mise-en-bouche (I was born in France), was very disappointed. En fait, he was so disappointed that I told him "Babe. We're getting these burgs, right the frick now, ya hear?"
I am sure no lady from the sooner state, as Elvis magnificently called it in the "Oklahoma!" musical (which is, incidentally, my husband's native state). However, as a wife, I do the best I can to make sure he is happy. So we went to PLNT Burgers. We are vegan btw.
The burgers were very good. However, I must warn you: there is a specimen sold as "very spicy". I think they even warn you - "be careful, Emilie! it's much spicier than mayonnaise!" but they did not specify how SPICY this means. WOW!!! Needless to say, on that day, I did not need my Evanescence iPod playlist to cry a bit.
My husband got his famous combo: fries with herbs, double cheeseburger. "Masterful gambit, hubby" I said when my little rogue vocalized his order to the cashier, who said, with a tone exquisite, "a'right 44 dollars".
In a nutshell, I would definitely recommend PLNT Burgers. En fait (je suis French) it might be my favourite vegan spot to eat on the go. Not really on the go, because we live, in fact, quite far away from it. But who cares when you can get this beast of a milkshake? MILKERS OF...
Read moreI stopped in here when i was passing by Whole Foods. I have been on and off vegan/vegetarian/pescatarian for the past 26 years and Ive had my fair share of meatless options. While I do love the Impossible Burger I've had at restaurants previously I honestly couldn't recall ever having a Beyond Burger. So I stopped in and like a previous reviewer said it sucks that you have to walk all through the Whole Foods to get to the location, but the staff greeted me immediately and were super friendly. I ordered a kids cheeseburger meal with the garlic herb fries because I wasn't very hungry. They cooked it fresh to order and it didnt take very long, less than 10 minutes. The garlic fries were good although they really needed salt. The herb dipping sauce was okay. Nothing special. The burger was really the stand out though, like it should be. The Patty was flavored well I love the pickles and ketchup, I did not like the cheese on it though so the next time I get one will definitely be without cheese. I know it's vegan cheese but it was just had a really weird texture once it was cooked and it's stuck to the paper wrapping of the sandwich and just left a really nasty feeling in my mouth. Also, their lemonade leaves A LOT to be desired. It tasted like watered down sugarless lemon water. I threw it away after one sip. It was really awful. So I will definitely eat there again if I am in the area of a PLNT Burger and hungry. I just recommend staying away from the cheese and the drinks. Also, I don't know who's winning the "meatless burger war" because both of them are pretty...
Read moreLet me start by saying I LOVE the PLNT in Columbia. I’ve been a number of times. Not sure if the guys at this location were new or inexperienced but the burgers I received were overcooked and burnt and the buns were also burnt smh. Super disappointed and a waste of $30. To make it all worse the food made me sick and had me in the bathroom almost immediately after eating it. Laxative burger with a detox bun. Customer service was also subpar. Biggest thing in customer service is if you don’t know the answer you are sure to not just say I don’t know or make up an answer- CALL OR ASK A MANAGER. I was attempting to get a gift card for someone in addition to the food I got and they said they never heard of them having gift cards and said they don’t know even though it’s listed as a checkout option. I had to just get a grubhub gift card instead for the person I was shopping for. Don’t think I can recommend this location to...
