Stumbled upon this place last night before a show at the 9:30 Club; loved the look of it and the fact that they have outdoor seating; beer selection good but pricey and I don't get the jam jar glass thing? Why is that considered to be the "cool" thing these days? I'd rather drink out of a beer glass, to be honest...The food was a real disappointment, though!! We had the BBQ platter with pork and brisket (and beans and slaw) - the beans were good, the slaw was ok but really needed salt but the meat was anything but good - very dried up, especially the brisket - dry, crumbly pieces...the pork was a little better but rather boring tasting...We continued on to Garden District, where the brisket is out of this world and they serve German beer on draft!! I still liked this place, but it needs improvement on the food front - and maybe better pricing....one buck off just one of the beers on draft for a Happy Hour deal is really...
Read moreAwful food but nobody comes here for the food. A man broke a glass next to me at the bar and although the bartenders were told, 10 mins later I'm stepping on broken glass. When I reminded the bartenders that me and everyone around me is stepping on glass, the bartender responded, "We're a little busy if you didn't notice. You can go somewhere else." I wasn't demanding a drink, I was reminding them that myself and others are a liability standing on broken glas. Based on the response, the bartenders could not care less. Def not coming back which isn't a huge loss because this place is more a headache than anything else. It used to be the only place to go in the area, now go to wet dog or literally...

The decor is unique and half the restaurant is outside heated with heat lamps during the winter. The service is good and the food fine. That's where I give it a three star. The food isn't amazing, but it does it's job. It comes out on a cheap paper plate and is smaller in portions but you pay DC prices for it. They have an okay beer list and have Crispin hard cider in a can. Four years ago, it was the bee's knees of DC, but now it's another average restaurant for locals to...
