Went for Saturday lunch/brunch - party of 3. Ordered coffee and 3 entrees. Total $100 with tip.

Our server was very disenchanted as if this service was an imposition on his otherwise busy day. Not what you would have hoped if the tipping rate on the handheld (no more paper bills!) starts at 18%.

But more importantly, the food was sub-par. Ordered the chicken pita (comes with house salad), which is listed at a menu price of $24 for weekends. Two small sections of basic supermarket pita with some chicken and tasteless pickled red cabbage were served with salad with barely any dressing. My companions’ portions were similarly scant. The avocado toast was a bit better ($20) but suffered the same underwhelming salad. Poached eggs ($24) are served with generous amount of hollandaise but are really one muffin sliced with a small amount of egg on each. Evaluate for yourself if this is value for $24.

Rosemary Bistro used to be a respected brunch option in NW, but it seems to have fallen on hard times. The place was less than half full. Staff are checked out and the kitchen seems unmotivated. Best avoided at this...

One definitely goes here for the food. They have a great wine list, too. And, because it's a French bistro, we got lovely French bread with our meal for no extra cost. The duck breast was cooked to my preference of medium rare and the cherry sauce was in a small terrine so I could apply as much or as little as I wanted. The duck was accompanied by a puree of celery root and glazed baby carrots. Delicious! My companion shared some of her sauteed vegetables which were tender but not overdone. The only thing that interfered with my enjoyment of the meal was the plate and steak knife. Cutting on a ceramic plate that had a very rough glaze with a serrated knife made it impossible to fully cut through the skin on the slice of meat. Saturday night dinner is not about conversation. The restaurant, at capacity, (because it is very popular) is not conducive to conversation. The interior is a bit cramped when full but I liked all of the festival posters on the wall. The owner must be from the same french town so we practiced our foreign language skills...

We were so hopeful to have a great experience here. However, from the beginning one of the servers (Tim) was extremely sarcastic and had unpleasant humor that came across very condescending. The menu itself is quite expensive & you always want to enjoy the food you eat especially when so expensive. The turkey panini had terrible turkey - full of grissle, fat, and was so chewy. When asked if they could replace it (only half the sandwich) all they did was reheat the half, inspect it as if it was totally fine, and proceed to make us (the customer) feel bad about asking.

We were never offered more water, and when we asked for the check — Tim again showed no gratitude or kindness but showed us the check and walked away.

While it was a nice outside ambiance - the service was completely unpleasant and the food was subpar.

Would not recommend this and completely disappointed— I am not one to write reviews but I felt so...

What a surprise! Who would have thought a small neighborhood restaurant would combine great food, generous portions and reasonable prices in an unhurried, casual atmosphere. As we sat down, the waiter brought us warm, crusty French bread with chilled really high quality butter. We ordered mixed grilled mushrooms (that weren't on the brunch menu but we asked for them anyway and got them with no fuss), avocado toast, caesar salad, salmon, nova salmon on egg, waffle with fruit and cream and peach melba. Photos attached. ALL really good. Apricot nectar - usually a disappointment at most restaurants) was intensely flavored and came in a little bottle from France. So it was the real thing. We couldn't have been happier. Parking (on the weekend) was easy as the next door bank allows use of its parking lot during non-banking hours.

What an amazing authentic French restaurant ! The name itself smells "douce France" from Charles Trenet.... The menu is an incredible difficult choice of so delicious dishes, from the salmon tartar, to the creamy mushroom risotto, the endives salad and the moules-frites ! Desserts are authentic French: creme brûlée, tarte Tatin, ile flottante.... a perfume of "la Madeleine de Proust". Delicious, refined, delicate, excellent and fresh products and fish, beautifully presented. Lovely deck under a tree with little light bulbs reminding a 14th of July in the French countryside. Lovely deco and details (water bottles, napkins...) A French must, for the purists. And warm welcome, which is not a guarantee in this area....Highly recommend !

Best French food in DC and friendliest staff. I had a fabulous Beef Wellington tonight. The meat was the most tender ever. It was a huge dish. There was enough for 2! My friend had Moulard Duck Breast, presented by the owner himself. Updated: went back at the end of May. The salmon tartare was beautiful and yummy. I loved the feta and cherry tomatoes salad. My friend had the lamb shank with a puree with leeks. We both drank a Strawberry Moscow Mule and we both also ate a Strawberry - Tomato gazpacho. As usual, great fresh food, well presented, and very friendly staff.
