I feel very fortunate to live a couple miles at most from White Center. Over the past forty years Rat City has become much more diverse culturally and believe me as far as your stomach is concerned this is a wonderful trend. I have eaten food from vendors set up in parks, markets, plazas, along the street and on the beach in Mexico, Guatemala, Belize and the Dominican Republic. While there may be some differences based on local geography, ingredients can and culinary traditions they all had one thing in common. Amazing mouth-wateringly delicious food! My pollo tacos con arroz y frijoles tonight was every bit as delicious and authentic as anywhere south of the border. I wholeheartedly recommend this place and will add that I have yet to feel let down by any of the similar establishments in White Center. A quick side note as I was nearing the end of my meal a passerby walked up to my table and asked if he could charge his phone too. Mine was plugged into my portable charger, both of which were sitting on the table next to my wallet. I said sure but I am leaving in a couple minutes. I noticed he was holding a "bubble" aka meth pipe. I finished my meal threw away my garbage and left a couple minutes later. He offered to smoke with me and asked if I wanted to sell my portable charger. I am not going to remove a star or penalize the proprietors for this. I mention it as a reminder to use your common sense, try not to flaunt your valuables or at least keep a good eye on them as well as your surroundings. Don't go into dark alleys with or accept rides from strangers be assertive if someone tries to pressure you into something you're uncomfortable with and there's nothing wrong with the buddy system. Everything that was mine before still is now. I don't think I was being setup to be robbed but if the opportunity is never presented... I think you get the idea. Be safe no matter where Google...
Read moreHands down the best tacos in Seattle. Upon reading that you may think, "Seattle doesn't have good tacos so the bar is low." I thought the same thing, but let's be clear. Taqueria La Fondita rivals tacos found in Los Angeles, Austin, and other cities more known for their tacos. Taqueria La Fondita is so good!
Here's why you need to visit:
Tacos: They have a large menu (burritos, etc), but their tacos is where it's at. They have around eight different kinds, but the carnitas are the best. I also ordered spicy pork and beef both of which were excellent, but not as amazing as the carnitas. It comes on a small corn tortilla, but it has the right texture that you can easily mistake it for a flour tortilla. I ordered seven tacos and the bill was under $12!
Location: It's a food truck off of White Center's main street. It's a cool neighborhood to walk around in to see the murals and interesting shops (Beer Star is nearby as well as Full Tilt Ice Cream).
Speed: They make your tacos fast so you won't have to wait long. If it rains (it's Seattle. Come on!), there's a small enclosed hut with tables to eat your food at.

Read morethis truck is amazing but in the last 5 months their prices have gone up at least 3 times with no explanation and with signs on the street saying .99 cent tacos. this is a lie, there is nothing they offer there that is less than a dollar and at this point they don't even have prices on all of their menu items as a ploy to do what they want.
Last night my boyfriend and I went there (he doesn't eat meat) and asked for three fish tacos to which the women in the truck were discussing in Spanish that they were running low on fish tacos so without asking or telling us they chose to replace his tacos with chicken-and he doesn't eat meat. Being that my boyfriend is Cuban he is fluent in Spanish and was able to understand the conversation they were having, and had hoped they would have notified the customer of this adjustment. What was most disappointing is that we didn't notice until we got home a bit later because never has this been an issue. Such a bummer when a local favorite starts not caring about their customers. Find somewhere else that cares about the food they put out THIS PLACE...
