I’m giving this 2 stars for how beautiful it is.. and when we DID get drinks, they were excellent. I would really only come back here to sit at the bar for drinks. The atmosphere is amazing! We paid over 225 for poor service and just okay food. Granted i understand it’s new, but make sure the staff are trained well before sending them onto the floor. We didn’t get our second round of drinks to go with our dinner for over 20 minutes.. i tried to eat slow just so i could have a drink with my meal. She barely cleared our plates, and sent over the check before we even finished our meal.. didn’t even ask us if we were finished nor took our plates or asked if we wanted anything wrapped. She asked if we needed anything else, but that doesn’t mean we’re done eating! My boyfriends 55 dollar filet was dry and had no flavor. My shrimp were okay but nothing spectacular. The bread should be warm also!! I was disappointed in the dining experience, and wanted to like it so badly. I’ll stick to just drinks from now on, because those were fantastic!! I don’t usually post reviews, but I felt it was useful information. I truly believe in time that...
Read moreVery disappointed with this place. I had such high hopes. I ordered Cioppino ( lobster, scallops, mussels, clams and shrimp and fish of the day) I didn't get the fish. I believe it was blended with the sauce which was under seasoned and didn't taste good. Imagine texture of a canned tuna blended with red sauce. It was just disappointing to spend $38 and needed to add salt and pepper to make it somewhat edible. My friends complained about their food being bland as well. I just can't justify spending $175 for this very underwhelming food ( we had some apps too). I don't complain about food a lot. In fact this is my first review ever. I must say they did a great job renewing this place and staff looks great in their uniforms. That's the only reason I am giving them one star. I am sure Fat Tuna will thrive in the summer because of the deck and drinks but I will never go there for...
Read moreFirst of all I have visited here twice since moving to the area in February. What a great spot for the summer and who ever owns it put a lot of money in this place. Incredible patio and the place is clean. See in the kitchen everything looks well taken care of and it spoke as the food was great. On Wednesday 10/23 I went to another Niantic restaurant for the first time and was disappointed with the food and the dessert selection was pies and no espresso coffee. We wanted cappuccino’s and dessert so we came in again just before they closed. Pumpkin bread pudding was killer and not only did we get two great cappuccinos a server or bartender we had before stopped over to say hello. Name was Brian. He came over and heard we had a hard time finding cappuccinos this time of night on main street. No skipping steps before close at this place. They took care of us and I will...
