Talk about authentic and delicious. This family owned restaurant takes pride in what they offer, the menu items they serve, food quality, customer appreciation, and is exactly what you want a small business owner to be. All menu items are made from scratch with the proprietors' own recipes. They even offer Italian Cream soda which is extremely hard to come by these days, especially in this location. The pasta salad cannot be skipped. Singlehandedly the best pasta salad I have ever tried. The homemade meatballs with their fresh whipped ricotta is to die for. Their Pinsa also somehow has the best cheese and seasonings we have come across in a loong time. Their parmesan fries are perfectly cooked and full of flavor. But finally, and most fantastic, their handmade sandwiches are out of this world. I cannot wait to come back on a Friday/Saturday to try their homemade Italian Beef sandwich! 😋 The AYO Syd!! had hands down the most tender meat I have ever tasted. The flavors are spot on and it melts in your mouth. I believe this just became my favorite food item of all time. I have no idea how it was that good, but somehow it is. It’s nearly impossible to pick just one sandwich—there are so many delicious options! I’m a big fan of the Turkey Panini and the Gavone, both made with perfectly crisp Italian bread, melty cheeses, and generous portions of high-quality meats. Each bite is packed with flavor, and Paul has an amazing way of creating unique combinations that harmonize beautifully.

Beyond the sandwiches, Dana’s homemade sweet treats are the perfect finishing touch. Her pistachio bread is my personal favorite—moist, flavorful, and absolutely delicious.

As many times as we have gone here it took me long enough to finally write a review because I just have so many great things to say about this place! Scungillis's is our favorite restaurant to eat at in Rochester hands down. From how friendly the entire staff is, you can truly tell everyone cares. You're not just a number here, and even the owner comes out to say hi! I usually get the same sandwich every time, but my fiance has tried nearly every one and all of them are delicious!
