China King — Restaurant in Waterloo

Much better than your typical “strip mall” Asian takeout. Our carry out order was exceptional! We customized our order online and everything was made perfectly. China King uses fresh, not canned, mushrooms and peppers. The rice noodles were the right texture, the veggie fried rice was flavorful and not excessively salty … and the crab Rangoon were FAAANTASTIC.

The staff is exceptional, as well. On our online order, we selected “no meat” They noticed that we added a few items that would have contained meat and made excellent recommendations for...

Went into the restaurant on their 2nd day open for business, sit down at a table (it was dirty), looked at the menu and waited for a server. No one came or even looked like they were considering coming. We were completely ignored. The staff preferred to continue answering the phone and taking to go orders instead of taking care of customers in the restaurant. We won't be going back any time soon and we won't be ordering to go either!

Update 11/18/2020, my wife insisted we get a to go order form this place, the food was average, nothing...

The first time I was there on a Sunday right after they opened, I had to wait for 20 minutes after the online order said the food would be ready. When I got home with my order it wasn’t complete. (Missing egg rolls). I gave them another try today. They said my order would be ready in 30 minutes. I arrived and was told it would be another 10 minutes. After waiting for another 30 minutes they asked my name again and said it would be up next. Finally another 10 minutes later it was done. The food is good but I wouldn’t have waited that...
