HM's Steakhouse — Restaurant in Watford City

My husband and I dined here last night (a Saturday). Due to this being only the first weekend in April, it was a pretty quiet evening. There were several tables of patrons, with two being large groups.

A nice, casual atmosphere, with a cordial, helpful staff. Mary was unobtrusively attentive throughout our meal; kudos to you, dear lady! I didn't get the name of the gal who seated us, but she thoughtfully chose to locate us in a section away from the larger groups.

I ordered the HM's Pasta, and my hubs had the Bruschetta Pasta; both were amazing. I almost never order pasta at a restaurant, because it's frequently overcooked, and/or the actual dish doesn't live up to the menu's glorious description.

Not so here. We were both suitably impressed with both the quality and the quantity of the ingredients used for our meals.

The chicken was tender and moist, the veggies were plentiful, and the sauces were beautifully done. They didn't skimp on the perfectly shredded (not grated) parmesan, either.

We both agreed, this was the highest quality pasta we've ever been served in a restaurant. And I have to say, they do not skimp on portions, either. Our pasta came out of the kitchen heaped on good-sized platters; we could have easily split a meal (then we'd have had room to try an appetizer, also).

Our food arrived steaming; clearly straight from the kitchen to us, with no stop at a warming lamp. Absolutely stellar!

Having seen Creme Brulee on the dessert menu, I specifically saved room for it, while my hubs ordered the Chocolate Mousse Tart. Both were very good, and topped off our meal perfectly.

I made my third visit to this culinary delight of a restaurant Friday evening. How Watford City, ND scored a chef of this caliber is beyond comprehension.

I’ve tried three different entrees. Each dish bursting with flavors that left me wanting more. Friday night, it was the Lemon Chicken. I don’t know that I’ve experienced chicken like this steakhouse puts out. Full of flavor and crazy tender. Couple the chicken breast with a garlic, mushrooms and a white wine cream sauce and your taste buds will thank you. The server BJ suggested I add a side of rice and SHAZAM!

I am eating leftovers as I write this review. I don’t eat leftovers. Seriously, usually won’t even ask for a box and rarely ever eat them, but that is how fantastic this meal was.

Service has been consistently good. Three separate team members have served me and each one did a fantastic job.

Need a beverage? BJ can whip up a fantastic reposado margarita. She’ll claim it’s the repossdo, but don’t let the humble mojo convince you of anything other than she knows how to pour.

She also is an excellent representative for this restaurant. She managed up the chef like he was her first born. That being said, every word she said rings true. Rock star status!

I’ve also had the shrimp fettuccine and the chicken fettuccine, which are equally amazing! Don’t leave without trying dessert. I’ve sampled the chocolate mouse cake and it’s sinful!!!

Bottom line Watford City… there is a chef in your midst who is killin’ it at HM’s Steakhouse. You want service, consistency and some mind blowing entrees… this is your...

Got seated at a table closest to the kitchen where there was alot of foot traffic. Had water and bread at the table. Eat the bread and drank all the water. Waited for awhile asked for who was serving us. As this is about 15 mins with seeing no one. Ordered our food and drinks together. Got my sweet tea shortly after. Waiting for our food mind u we r at the front of everything as everyone is walking by. Still no water refills.!! Got our steaks with baked potatoes. 1 steak under cooked. 1 steak done perfectly as was asked. Baked potatoes were very under cooked. Cut into the steaks and Waited for our server. Finally showed up said mine is cooked good can I get some A1 and the other steak is under cooked. She left brought back A1 after 3 other tables. No Anything about the steak. No water no refills ended up waiting another 15mins and just asked 1 of the other girls our bill. This was a $95 bill for two ppl and no refills couldn't do anything for our food. And hardly no service besides ppl walking by...
