Mid. Just mid. Noting great. It’s okay.
I guess worth trying so you know if you want to return or not.
It’s unlikely I will unless I’m feeling desperate. Or next time I’ll try a burrito to be able to review that.
Their salsa is good. 3 out of 4 are good. Rojo, verde, habanero are all good. The avocado salsa could be better!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m still looking for a spot in Iowa to satisfy. I have yet to be happy about any place I’ve reviewed so far.
I love the color of the tortillas good flavor but could be fried a little more crispier, they were too SOFT in mine and my husband’s opinion.
Horchata was okay. I will not be buying it again. It didn’t taste authentic to me. I prefer the rice grain texture and this didn’t have it. Not what I am looking for. I also prefer fresh cinnamon stick, this one tasted like cinnamon seasoning. Gross 🤢 they’re not authentic enough for my liking. Trying to cater to Iowan native makes them lose stars. You guys think this is good but go to California and try REAL AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD🥰😋🤤
The carne asada was good and tender but I prefer smaller pieces not chunks. It was also a bit thin for California style preference, we eat thicker cuts of carne asada. My husband said good flavor though. I agree. Could use a little more salt or flavor personally whatever they use.
I ordered with grilled onion, didn’t know they wouldn’t put fresh but okay. In California you have the option of both. I guess that’s not the case for Iowa.
Also, I did not like that they put the salsa on the side. I prefer they put the salsa on my tacos for me. California style😂🥰🥰🥰
Anywho, enjoy my review have a lovely experience for yourself. It’s mid in my opinion.
Hubby says tortillas are too soggy with grease!!!
This is for Eduardo, he said “if you’re going to cook your tortillas in grease, make sure they’re crispy👍not soggy👎” Gracias amigo.👊🫶 I...

We were on our way to Chicago on a long car ride and had to pull over in a town in Iowa for gas and food, and found GOLD. TNTs was so good that it ruined all the fancy restaurants in Chicago, made us crave it all week, and we ended up canceling our last day in Chicago TO STAY IN DES MOINES just to eat here more!!!!
My wife is vegan, I am not, and we both were blown away at how good everything was. Let me tell you a bit about it.
What I ate were the quesabirria tacos, the torta al pastor, and then had that sh*t again because it was divine.
The quesabirria tacos looked staged for a commercial, perfectly golden and pulled apart with the most mouth watering mix of meat and cheese. The moment you bit into it, the flavors BURST and combined into the most savory and indulgent taco you can imagine. If you order anything other than these, you need to get one one the side just to say you experienced it.
But that torta... Oh the torta...
Writing this, I'm about to drive 10 hours just for another one. I have been ordering torts from every restaurant I go to chasing this high ever since.
The fresh bread, toasted to the point of melting into its contents with every bite. Fresh avocado to prepare your taste buds for what's to come. The PERFECT amount of cheese, meat, peppers, and vegetables. When I tell you this is the best prepared pastor to ever grace this earth, I mean that with just one bite it could change your perspective on how good food could possibly be. The way it all comes together makes each bite textured, flavored, and portioned PERFECTLY.
ORDER THIS!!!
GO HERE!!! Do it for those of us who live far away 😞
Btw, my wife raves about how unreal the vegan steak...
Read moreWe are never out it Waukee but we definitely have a reason now to come out more often! If you love a good street taco, this is the place for you. We are a family of 5 and my kids all were saying this was the “best restaurant ever”!
Food: I got 4 street tacos Carne Asada - by far my favorite. So juicy and tender. Chorizo - this was awesome and had a little kick to it Birra - wow! I absolutely loved the flavor and the added cheese Carnitas - this was good but with the other being better, I wouldn’t get this one again
My kids got the kids meal with taco and rice. There wasn’t much left when they were done.
My husband got the carne asada taco bowl and devoured the whole thing. That you can choose what toppings you want with it instead of it being a one item fits all.
We also decided to get the three dips appetizer (salsa, guacamole and queso). The queso was incredibly good! The guacamole was very fresh but had a little too much lime flavor. I still ate all of it. The salsa was also fresh and served well as a topping rather than a stand alone with chips. I loved that the chips were fresh, crunchy and not too salty.
The other side we got was the street corn and this was probably my favorite thing I ate. Creamy, cheesy, a little kick. Absolutely yes.
I would highly recommend getting some aqua fresca with your meal as well. Wow! I got the pineapple and would go back just for that.
We ended the meal with some churros. They are filled with what I believe to be dulche de leche and I wish I could eat these every day.
So glad we decided to stop here for lunch! We ended up spending over $90 (much more than typical for us with a lunch meal) but the food...
