VILLAGE GARDEN II — Restaurant in Waupun

We ordered perch dinners. When you live in wisconsin and you order perch , you assume you're getting lake perch. This was not the case. What we received were large fillets of some sort of mushy/mealy textured white fish. On top of that, it was raw in the center. After taking our order we didn't see the waitress again until it was time to pay the bill. The restaurant wasn't busy as there were only three tables of diners in the whole place. When the waitress finally showed up , we told her that the fish was raw. They then told us that if there was a problem with it, we should have told them at the beginning of the meal and not at the end. We would have done so had the waitress bothered to come back to our table. The food was great, as was the value. We got three entrees between us and it came out to about $34. We took home leftovers. The American fries are delicious and the eggs were super fluffy.

The service was mediocre. We ordered a coffee and two waters and the second water never came. The food was all correct and they were friendly, just not very attentive. A huge line built up at the cash register because it was unattended, even though a couple of wait staff were within view of it and just chatting. None of this is a HUGE deal, really, and we would definitely go back based on the food and value. We just know now to expect potential...

This was my first visit to this restaurant. We had great service and the food was excellent. I had a ham, cheese and mushroom omelette. It was cooked to perfection. The hashbrown were golden and crispy. The best part was that the toast had actually been buttered and was not dry like a lot of places.
