This is honestly a high caliber place in the Wausau area. Lets start with the atmosphere. It has a north woods cafe meets the 1980s feel with all the wood accents and booths. Its a brilliantly designed layout that allows for a cozy feel without a bad seat anywhere.
The location of this store is set in a quiet northside side where you feel safe and a part of the community. The parking lot and building are inviting and have a mom and pops feel rather a box chain.
The service was amazing. Tia our server was fast, extremely personable, and professional. All the staff cared about our experience from the time in the door to the last moment we walked out to leave. Friday nights there are the best and so are Saturdays.
The food was astronomically good. Our food was fresh and the quaility of ingredients farm fresh or top notch for our appetizer basket. The burgers were ground steak were cooked to absolute perfection. The burgers had a perfect sear and not dry. Our fries and salads were something from a menu picture and tasted as good. Our cheesecake rivaled that of of places i have gone to in New York.
The restrooms were clean as the entirety of the building was well. This entire location clearly is well kept and maintaned down to the murphys oil used to clean the wood. Not a dime of dust anywhere nor dirt on the floor. This place makes Eagles Nest look like a step down and i have been to both. It blows anything including Jakes Supper Club in Menomonie away.
Folks... go here and nowhere else in the area. You wont be...
Read moreI went to this cafe a month ago and ordered some fish to go, and when I got home and saw how my food looked I called the restaurant to speak with someone about the meal but they had closed and told me to bring the meal in the next day which I did, I was told that I am not welcomed at the restaurant and they do not want my service after I asked for something different to replace the fish that had all types of char burned things stuck to it and it was broken into pieces and served with 3 different kinds of mixed french fries that were freezer burned and stuck together and 4 pieces of the end of the loaf pieces of bread stuffed in a old bread loaf wrapper with lots of condiments on top of it and a wilted salad, and they wanted to know why did I want something different and my money back, which triggered them to tell me that I was not welcomed into their restaurant and to not come back they will not service me and they will not allow me to order anything else. The nerve of people to try and serve me sloppy, leftover food that they would not eat and think it is ok, they would not eat that especially for the price of some of the food I pay to eat at restaurants it should be cooked better and presented better to look...
Read moreThis place feels like a big, fuzzy, warm scam. Everyone gives glowing reviews, but if they checked their receipts, they might not be so happy. I was there, ordered some food, and the total was $7 over what was on my bill. The manager, or whoever the elderly host is, checked me out and asked if I wanted to leave a tip. I told him no three times, stating I left a tip on the table. When I came back in asking why I was charged so much, he chalked it up to "because you paid with a card and there's a 3% charge." Okay, how does that make any sense? Even with a 3% charge and 5.5% sales tax, it should have been 8.5% total, meaning my bill should have been around $28.21, since the base charge was around $26. So, if it came up to $33 something, it means he charged me 28.5%: 3% for the credit card service fee, 5.5% for sales tax, and a 20% tip. How many people, especially elderly ones, have probably swiped their card at this establishment and been ripped off because they weren't paying attention? And if they get caught, they just chalk it up to "Oh sorry, I accidentally hit the tip button."What they're doing is criminal and should be...
