My OLD review was a 5, but as of late when you order you are asked to pay with cash only and that drops my review. One night I was told they had no change and had to have exact change. We are rapidly moving to a cashless society and I do not carry a lot of cash around. I do understand the extra costs small businesses have to pay to credit card companies, but at the same time, this business had a robbery a few years ago... and I would think they would want to reduce the amount of cash on hand. Wait times seem to be growing, so the business must be doing well. Saturday I called at 6:45 and was told 45 minute wait and I needed to have cash. I cancelled my order and went elsewhere. The last time I went there the woman on the counter was also working in the kitchen... and there were no gloves, hand washing or sanitizer to protect my food. Small. seating area as of late needs a good and deep cleaning, and more than a mop run around every...
Read moreWe received the wrong order and I didn’t find out until I got home so I called them to explain the situation. The mother of the operation answered the phone and immediately explained that it was my fault for giving the wrong phone number...my own phone number...and then finally accepted that it was an obvious language barrier issue and she apologized and handed me off to her native English-speaking son. He said he could deliver me the correct order until he found out it would take him away from the store for 20 minutes. Then he offered me a credit if I would come pick it up but I didn’t have time for that (the reason I was ordering take out in the first place). I was disappointed about the mix-up and would expect that it would be a part of their regular system to go through orders with their customers to avoid language barrier issues. Beyond that, I didn’t enjoy the food (Average at best in my Chinese food experiences) and...
Read moreAs a self-proclaimed Chinese food enthusiast I find Happy Wok to be a true diamond in the rough, setting the bar in area for both price and quality. I've enjoyed their take-out for lunch and dinner more than dozen times with each experience as good as the last. The General Tso's chicken is a excellent dish with hearty portions and a sauce that stands out amongst other Chinese restaurant's. It can also be served side by side with a lovely shrimp stir fry in a light white sauce in the "Dragon and Phoenix" dish under the specials. Parking can a bit of a challenge though most people miss the available spots along the north side of the building and try to park in front. All in all, if your expectations are for excellent take-out the friendly staff at Happy Wok will rise to the...
