My girlfriend and I truly enjoy eating out. On our travels,we came across Giacomo's Ristorante in Wayland Mass. As we entered the restaurant, there were about 20 tables empty and about 4 people at the bar. We were seated at a 4-person booth, and unfortunately, I am a large man and needed to sit at an open table. My girlfriend and I moved to the table right next to us. The waitress came over and said, "Can you move to the two person table as we have reservations?" I said to her, "you put us in a 4-person booth." She said, "but we have reservations." I looked around, and no one else was there except the 4 people at the bar. I looked at my girlfriend and said, "This won't work. Let's go." The waitress said, "It's fine." I replied."If it were fine, you would not have said anything." She tired tell us it's ok, but I felt insulted and we left. We decided to go to "The Villa" where we were immediately at a table of our choice, ordered our food which was very delicious. I got the veal, and my girlfriend got the spaghetti and meatball. I do not need to be treated like trash. That was very service at Giacomo's Ristorante. I will never go there again or advise to go either. It was right at 4 pm. that we arrived. My review is based on the service alone. We did not stay to eat.
So the owner replied to my review and said they were booked for months in advance. There is nothing on the door that stated reservations only. We were put in a four person bench seat. We moved because I am a large person and need to sit regular seat. The bench seat was left open for as the owner said larger group of people who made reservations. This owner has nothing but excuses. Again, poor service. We went to The Villa which was very accommodating and their food was...
Read moreDo not support this restaurant. Read why. My wife was denied a table when she tried to get a table for one. Immediately afterward a woman with two small children's were immediately seated. My wife is Asian. The woman and kids were white. I guarantee my wife's bill would have been higher and the tip better.
I cannot specifically state why she was refused service as I was traveling on business but she was treated very rudely when she raised the concern and received very sarcastic responses to her questions. The owner has further expressed outrage vs. understanding when she posted her review. He is more concerned about being "insulted" because she raised a question discretely and then he made an outrageous scene by blaming and yelling at her in a room full of white patrons after sarcastically (I hope) saying "yes, I am racist."
A better way to handle it may have been, "I am so sorry but it is our policy on Friday or Saturday night to only seat tables of 3 or more. I am sorry we could not accommodate you and we appreciate you expressing your concern."
As one update, I did call to find out what happened and I had 4 f-bombs dropped on me within 1.5 min call with the OWNER and it sounded like I was being threatened when I was asked to come down and “talk” about it.
What has been clearly shown is that the owner expresses outrage at the slightest question of his authority. It is not a customer centric approach, nor does it show empathy as others. We will continue to share our story with others until an apology is offered. I am not counting on it.

Read moreWe have been driving by this place for months and tonight (Saturday), our neighbors asked if we would go out for dinner, so we picked Giacomo. The restaurant was packed when we arrived at 7:45pm. It was a little noisy in a good way, cozy and lively. If you are looking for a quiet romantic dinner, I suggest you book late around 8-8:15pm as it got less busy. We are foodies and do not like bland food and we were not disappointed. The garlic bread and the bruschettas were the best I had in a long time. Bursting with garlic and fresh ripe tomato flavor. My eggplant parmigiana was really good, with a rich tomato sauce and perfect texture. The red pepper and goat cheese gnocchis were amazing. Veal parmigiana and 4 cheese raviolis were also really tasty. My red sangria, ordered without ice, was good, even if a little weak. Chocolate mousse cake and cannoli were nice. Our server Jackson was attentive, efficient, funny and kind. I congratulated him at the end and found out he was a college student and it was only his third night working there. Keep it up, Jackson! Overall, a great night. Add an authentic Italian ice cream with fresh fruit over to the dessert menu and it...
