This restaurant just lost a very long time loyal customer last night! First off my family has been ordering from this location for about 4 years now, my receipt last month showed our 100th purchase! Its really hit or miss here (depends on whos working) I always order the same thing (subs) and once in a blue moon they are made right, but most of the time you are just getting a big piece of bread with nothing inside! Ordered an italian sub and a steak sub, I kid you not the steak sub literally had one single mushroom slice on each half! There was no meat on about 3/4 of the sub. The italian sub didnt have 1 single piece of ham on it, salami only! Both were severely lacking in any type of toppings! Also every single time I order subs from here the lettuce is brown and wilted, without fail! No sub sauce was given for either sandwich; sub prices recently went up significantly from $6.99 to $8.50 you would think they would be making them worth the price hike but they have steadily gotten worse and worse! And to make matters even worse the person touching the raw sub toppings and making food is the person whp rang me up! Then he went right back to touching food without washing, absolutely disgusting! This alone makes me never want to go back, take the fact that the prices have gone up and the quality/quantity/toppings have gone dowm and I will never order from here again! If you enjoy getting food poisoning then by all means order from here! If you dont want to spend nearly $9 on a piece of bread with wilted lettuce inside then this is the location for you! My mother tried to order some pizza for my daughter and they called her back 15 minutes later after ordering online and told my mother that she could no longer order from that location. They red listed her because they stated she made a complaint about their service too many times. However, when my mother asked them why they NEVER told her why. They just stated that it’s been like this for a while. So I myself, called them asking why because I thought it had something to do with the location of the city she is located at. They tell ME, NOT HER, ME, why they stopped her ordering and it was simply because she makes complaints about their service or food. My mother is not irate at all and very nice and soft spoken. If she makes a complaint she is being honest yet respect. Me on the other hand I’m totally different so I am the worst person they could have told this to. How they handled this was NOT professional. And it is NOT a customers fault if you franchise can’t get it together. They made me so mad I was to the point of going up their in person to the GM and cursing them out. However, it’s no point. Blames corporate as if they have no discretion of their store and as if they follow all policies..I worked next to this store for 3 years when I was younger and we shared employees with them (not vice versa), and the idea they always follow those guidelines is untrue—as I have both seen and heard. We just wanted to get a half and half pizza, but they would have 2 different sauces so they refused and said they have never allowed that in “10 years he worked for this company.” Rather just order from someone who will grant our request (okay with paying more and waiving rights to complain—as I had run a pizza franchise for 6 years in college, I know it certainly possible to grant a request like this to keep a customer). Anyhow, called another Howies and bypassed the call center— they had no trouble doing this. One lost customer and bad review won’t make a difference or dent in their giant profits, but i just wanted to mention their are other locations nearby who with work with the customer and have at least decent customer service.
