Lady Di’s House of Soul Food — Restaurant in Wayne

First times a charm ig? Didn't answer the phone after literally a test of calling them continuously for 10mins. Not placing an order through DD where they upcharge so just won't order. Lost a potential customer; I highly doubt they were too busy to answer the phone. BK within 2 years and I'll be laughing as an individual that knows how to sustain 4 brick & mortars😂 you're a local restaurant that literally has absolutely ONE brick & mortar. There's no reason to get an 888 number besides an excuse to not answer the phone.

Just read previous reviews... and what I've learned is that just about all of their sides are canned products they basically just heat up. This person has truly put a bad name to the soul food industry and I'm so very sorry about it. Soul food originates from its creativity and home like fed food. These owners are taking advantage of that and thinking the general public can't tell between authentic homemade soul food and GD canned bought BS. I promise you!!! This restaurant is NOT a representation of the soul food industry, you'd honestly have much better luck just going to a random gas station for hot food. If I could give zero stars I would!!! I spent $75 here and the WHOLE experience was BAD, horrible. No one cared about how long I waited. I spent OVER an hour in the store waiting and it had been over two hours since I ordered. There was food sitting out uncovered and they were not using gloves to serve. They didn't have any meat!! I watched part of my order sit over 45 minutes waiting on the rest of my order to be completed. The food was not seasoned AT ALL!! Everything looked and tasted like it was out of a can and straight into the oven. Yams were not cut and there was still skin on the potatoes. All of the workers argued with me over not seeing the doordash order. I could also hear them arguing with each other. They called me twice saying different meats were out. When I got there one of the substitutes was out as well and they didnt show any compassion for my food or the wait. The daughter/cashier was VERY rude. She didn't want to give me my food and she didnt care that'd I'd ordered my food prior to being there. She took other customers before me and she talked to me very disrespectfully. I went to Lady Di's after coming home on a flight. I read a few reviews and decided to give them a try. I actually had the chance to meet Lady Di and her daughter who was running the front counter. Both Lady Di and her daughter are very friendly and pleasant to talk to. This is not a sit down restaurant, only carry out which has been open about 2 months. I ordered ribs with a side of mac and cheese and candied yams with a side of peach cobbler. The peach cobbler was not available so they suggested caramel cake. So I got caramel cake. I was excited to try this food but I had 40 minutes to drive to get home. I settled for eating the caramel vake in the car. Lady Di's caramel cake had good flavor to both the cake and frosting but the frosting puddled at the bottom of the container. It did not maintain consistency between the slices although the flavor was good. The candied yams weren't candied but cut up sweet potatoes, the mac and cheese has good flavor but was a little dry. I would have loved to try the peach cobbler. I will attach pictures of what I got for $32. I wish Lady Di the best in her...
