Disappointing Experience at Rick’s Barbecue – Poor Service & Cold Food We visited Rick’s Barbecue in Waynesboro around 8:30 PM and placed our order at 8:34 PM (verified by the receipt). We waited until approximately 8:50 PM to receive our food, and unfortunately, the meals that included fries were cold. The chicken was fine, so we began eating, but the overall experience was already off to a bad start. As we ate, an employee was cleaning around us, and I politely asked if we could get fresh fries. She reluctantly agreed, but her facial expression showed clear annoyance. When the fries arrived, they were not only a bigger portion but also hot, which was an improvement. However, by that time, I had already noticed the toast was ice cold as well. I didn’t bother mentioning it, as I didn’t want to cause further tension. By the time we finished our meal at 9:08 PM (just eight minutes after closing), I went to get a refill. From the time we arrived, the tea, fruit tea, and lemonade had been kept behind the counter, which made it a hassle to get refills. We had been able to get a few, but when we asked for one last refill before leaving, the employee simply said, "We already dumped them out." This was frustrating because rather than wasting good tea and lemonade, they could have offered it to customers beforehand. My son, who actually knows this employee personally, asked in surprise, "Are you for real?" to which she responded with a cold and dismissive "Yeah" in a hateful tone. At this point, we asked to speak to a manager. The employee hesitated but eventually brought out Carley from the back. Unfortunately, her response was just as dismissive. She repeatedly said, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry" in a monotone voice without offering any solutions. I left my name and number with her, expecting to hear from upper management regarding our experience, but as of now, I have received no follow-up. To add to the frustration, we later noticed an upcharge of $1 per meal for substituting mac & cheese instead of fries—something that used to be allowed at no extra cost. We weren’t informed about this charge before ordering, and I only discovered it when reviewing the receipt. Ironically, as we walked to our car, we ran into a manager from the Lawrenceburg Rick’s location. After explaining our experience, he agreed that it was unacceptable and apologized on behalf of the company. He also provided us with the district manager’s name and mentioned that if we ever visited the Lawrenceburg location while he was working, he would take care of us. Overall, this visit was disappointing due to cold food, poor customer service, and a lack of professionalism from the staff. The fact that I left my contact information with the manager and have yet to hear from anyone only reinforces my dissatisfaction. While the interaction with the Lawrenceburg manager was a bright spot, I cannot recommend this particular Rick’s location based on our experience. Furthermore, I expect better from a company that promotes itself as being Christian owned business. Values such as kindness, hospitality, and integrity should be reflected in every location, yet this experience did not align with those principles.

went right before they closed and they still serves us, thank you!! staff was very friendly and service was fast! the woman who took our order was very helpful and another member recommended the white sauce (it was our first time). we got 3 sandwiches, a kids meal, and some ribs. the white sauce is very good and goes well with anything, must try!! fries are also well seasoned! we ate the ribs with the mild and the hot sauce and it made it more tasty! will come back when in the area again šŸ˜‹

Not many choices in Waynesboro, but really glad I tried Rick's BBQ! Got a pulled pork sandwich meal. Came with really good crispy seasoned fries, and pickles on the sandwich. I declined the other stuff that comes with the sandwich. Pork was juicy and delicious. Tried the mild BBQ sauce and it was just the way I like it. I'll be back, you should give it a try!

A must for BBQ and, POTATOES…what? I asked our very pleasant server Hannah what the best sellers were and she said ā€œour potatoes and our pulled pork, of course, since we’re a BBQ placeā€. She then helped by explaining many different combinations. Typically I would go for the pulled pork sandwich, beans & slaw or potato salad: This time my husband was the one who got the pork sandwich, which was topped with slaw and he choose beans for his side & enjoyed. I just had to go for something including a potato . I chose the loaded potato skins which you could add meat to, so I got the pork on the side. The large skins were perfectly cooked (crispy edges) & loaded indeed with cheese, bacon & chives around a dollop of sour cream. Hannah even read my mind by suggesting ranch for dipping. My ā€œmealā€ was delectable and very filling. My son got Mac and cheese with his kids meal and it was quite tasty as well. I put a bit of the Mac on a bun with the pork and I think they need to considering making it a menu item!

Even though they have counter service, Hannah came to check on how everything was and even cleared some of our plates. I’m always thankful when encountering staff members like her; they really make the experience complete. AND, the three of us got full meals for only $28, which is rare these days. When we left a line had built both in the lobby and the drive thru. Ricks is obviously a local favorite, which means you...

During my 30 min lunch break I drove over and ordered ONE ITEM. The American wrap. I ordered it wothout meat, without mayo, add onion and mustard. The lady repeated it back to me twice. I paid for my food and took it back to work. I have been a vegetarian for over 30 years. I took a bite of my wrap to find it was filled with pork. I was horrified. I look at the receipt and it read: american wrap, pork, cheese, lettuce, no mayo , add mustard add onion , NO MEAT . I called the store and spoke with the manager . I read her the receipt and , pointing out that it said pork at the top and no meat at the bottom. Her response " yeah I see why they did it that way" She barely said sorry and said I could drive all the way back over there and get a refund or she would make another sandwich. It was 2 pm. I had not eaten all day. My lunch break was over. And I was a little surprised at the lack of customer service. Come all the way back and take time off work to get what I should have gotten in the first place ? When I got off work at 6pm, I drove back over and got a refund. I cannot believe that I had to go all day with no food and drive there twice and all they did was give me my money back and act like it wss no big deal. Had I been a manager with a mess up this big, I would have at least offered a coupon for a free meal or something, for all the inconvenience. That's how you...
