I ordered dinner for my family of three last night. Two flounder sandwiches, two hotdogs, two OR & a tater tot. I asked them to put the onion rings and tater tots in a bag by themselves so that all the sandwiches wouldn't weigh down on them and make them soggy before I got home. They were out of large buns so they wanted to put the flounder sandwiches on Texas toast. I refused and asked the young lady curb hopping that since the founder filet is so big, could they cut them in half and put half of it on a small bun and the other half on another small bun since they didn't have big buns? In a few minutes she came out with the flounder made on Texas toast and told me that it looked nice. I didn't want that so repeated the question about cutting it in half and using two small buns. She came back and told me yes they would do that. Once I got the food the two orders of onion rings were in the bottom of the bag wrapped up, and both sandwiches while small buns and cut in half. So we had two to three inches of fish sticking out on each side of the bun. They also gave us some good rings that were in pieces. There would be like three or four regular running rings in each order, then a bunch of little broken up pieces. I asked the young lady if they were out of onion rings since they gave us such a mess of small pieces? They were probably all like that, so she asked if I would like tater tots for those two onion rings. So they cooked those for me while our sandwiches/hotdogs were getting cold.
I was not happy at all with the way the order was handled, the sandwiches made incorrectly, and knowing that I was paying for onion rings and they choose to give us all those small broken pieces.
I understand it's really hard to get employees, but the ones that do come to work should know better than to give things to the customer like that.
As we all know, the prices of everything are going up. Our cold sandwiches, half naked, and hot tater tots...
Read moreWe chose this place for dinner based on the great online reviews (we were visiting from SC). I didn't enjoy my food here AT ALL. I ordered the single bacon cheeseburger (specifically requested that it be cooked "super well done") with fries. Y'all, I swear, the hamburger patties was SO THIN, if it hadn't had bacon on it, I wouldn't have even known there was meat on it! After my first bite, I pulled it apart, truly thinking there was no burger on it, and see the paper thin burger...and it was PINK on the inside! I showed my husband and he couldn't believe it. He started putting his beef tips on my plate to eat. Then I ate a few fries and they were so salty that even smothering them in ketchup didn't help! So, since hubby doesn't mind extra salt, he took my fries and gave me half of his baked potato. The fries were even too salty for him. I will say that the baked potato was DELICIOUS! But I was so aggravated about my meal that it didn't matter. I gave them 3 stars because my husband enjoyed his meal (beef tips w/loaded baked potato) and the staff was pleasant. Also, in talking to locals later, they said it is an okay place to eat IF you know what to order! Clearly, I did NOT! So, with all the good reviews, hubby liking his meal, and input from a few locals, I'll assume I just chose the wrong meal...even though, a burger and fries shouldn't be hard to make... AND I will NOT be going back to play roulette with the menu and HOPE I...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to take a venture out up to Maggie Valley and stopped here to get a bite to eat. The service and atmosphere were good but the food was terrible! I ordered open faced roast beef and it came out looking like old dried up lunch meat and the mashed potatoes were like they mixed them in gravy before even pouring the gravy on them and looked and tasted awful. I then asked for something different and thought I could get a chicken breast since it looks like a home cooking restaurant but was told that they don't have fried chicken breast only chicken patties. I asked if it was pressed meat and she wasn't sure she just knew that they were packaged patties. I agreed to try it on a bun and although it was a step up it was still not what we had expected since there were lots of cars in the parking lot. My husband ordered the meatloaf special and it looked like someone had already began eating it as it was all smashed up instead of being in slices.Don't let the cars fool you. We think maybe since it's still winter and on a Thursday, most places are closed at this time of year, so everyone just has to take what they can get in the area if they want to dine out. We won't...
