Dead bugs, hair, cracked paint on cinderblock walls, broken blinds, old furniture, musty smells, spiders, painted-over rust, cracked concrete steps, cigarette stains on counter and bathtub, no ice bucket, no staff on site (lobby is a room full of extra chairs and an old piano with an ice machine in the back), coffee pot in room had moldy wet grounds from a previous customer. I was kinda shocked this could be around a resort area. Wasn't expecting luxury, but this felt gross. The employee that came over to fix the blinds when they got stuck open was very polite and helpful. So he is the 2 stars. Otherwise staff on site is N/A (Also they use bright blue-white halogen bulbs in the lamps, which, to me, just makes a space harsh and unsettling. Just my opinion on the bulbs.) Stay at the EconoLodge close by for at least half the price and a 500% nicer room.

My church had a retreat here and we stayed at this little motel for the weekend. The rooms were clean. We did not see any staff, so I can’t really speak to the service. Everything was adequate but this building is very old. All of the walls are cinder block. Some paint was peeling off the ceiling in the bathroom. Shower gel, shampoo conditioner and lotion were provided. The bed was comfortable. The rooms and bathrooms could use an update. No outlets at bedside. Very few outlets. It is basic but enough for a weekend. Some ladies said their rooms smelled mildewish. Ours did not smell bad. The view from the balcony is stellar. Lake Junaleska is a beautiful place and we so enjoyed the lake view.

Clean, quiet, neat basic 50's lodge experience with modern amenities (a/c, tv w/cable). Sufficient for our short term needs.

Awful awful awful experience. Everything on this property could use a HUGE facelift!! Very dated and the beds etc were the worst. Management could have cared less. We were surprised and disappointed especially with the property owned by a church. OVERPRICED as well. Actually stayed in September...
