High Pointe Restaurant & Tavern — Restaurant in Weathersfield Township

TL;DR decent service, we just weren’t fans of the food we got.

Nearly 8 hours of driving and we were getting pretty hungry. After visiting a local toy shop this was the only restaurant I saw and reviews seemed decent. I saw the spinach and artichoke dip and decided we would give it a shot. The dip was decent but I wasn’t a fan of the chips. They looked nice and fancy but just weren’t to my liking. I think I kind of filled up on that. Hubby got the cheese curds which is a favorite appetizer for him, he was not impressed but I thought they were okay. The meal came and I had trouble eating my Philly cheesesteak sandwich due to the bread not being soft, because I have braces. That was a bummer but most people would like it toasted and I didn’t think to ask for soft bread. I just ate the guts of the sandwich with a fork but the flavor was just not great. Hubby had the black jack chicken wrap and turns out he wasn’t a fan on the blackened part. (Well aware that’s probably the point of this dish and it just wasn’t for him) The service was decent we just didn’t enjoy the meal sadly. We didn’t even get boxes because we didn’t want to eat the leftovers. We never leave food behind like that! The waitress was nice and remembered I didn’t want ice when she brought me a refill. I hated wasting food but with several hours left driving to get home, and not enjoying it fresh, we decided it wasn’t worth bringing it home. The atmosphere was nice and it wasn’t busy at the time we went. Just wasn’t the right meal for us, unfortunately. Lately I keep striking out with beef dishes, so I think I’ll be sticking to chicken dishes for a while. It’s possible my tastes have just changed since I haven’t been eating...

FIRST TIME ORDERING HERE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE My experience with here was short lived and very disappointing. After reading reviews of how good the food is, I decided to give it a try. I called to place an orde,r and the young lady that answered the phone did a very poor job. She kept saying she couldn't hear me when I tried to order, but answered me everytime I asked if she could hear me. I proceeded to try and order the haddock dinner and she told me they no longer had the fried haddock dinner. She then states "we have a fried fish dinner but it's not haddock". I asked what kind of fish it was, and she said, " I DON'T KNOW", then crickets. I asked can you find out? She said I'll have to ask the cook, but it will take a while. What? I terminated my order and hung up. I called back and spoke to Scott. Guess what? Scott could hear me fine. Scott apologized for the experience, but after that I had no desire to give this restaurant my business. Customer sevice is everything, and in my opinion more important than what your food tastes like! My advice is to talk to staff and train them that customer service is extremely important. My second piece of advice to the young lady ( I think she said her name was Mia or Mila)that answered the phone is this, if you don't like you job you should seek...

I had ordered the greens pizza from High Pointe and added chicken to it. This is the only thing my family ever orders from there and the last several times they have messed it up. My family is never picky and hates to cause confrontation so we usually just eat whatever the mistake is. Well today was extremely upsetting due to the poor handling and treatment of the issue. It started that they told me it would be ready in 35 minutes and upon arrival 40 minutes after I still had to wait. I did not look at the pizza before leaving which was a huge mistake. When I got home I found that it was a meat lovers pizza. I had called back and told them about the mistake. They told me they would make the correct pizza and it would be 25 minutes. They also asked us to return the incorrect pizza (they said their workers would eat it). while we waited for the correct pizza to our surprise it came out wrong again! They gave us the smaller size when we order the large and told us that it was our fault that we didn’t order it correctly! I am highly upset about the service and treatment they gave to my family!
