Holy. Cow. YES. Let me tell you- I'm happy we live in a small town only 1.5 miles away because this restaurant is worthy of being in a big city location. First off- we were greeted by our lovely server DIANNE (two Ns. She wanted us to know that, lol). Warmest person I've ever met in the restaurant industry. You can tell she gives small-town vibes because of how super sweet and personable she is. But I will tell you- her skills were on POINT! She exceeded all of our expectations, needs and literally knew the exact times to check in on us. We were left wanting for nothing, even though the restaurant was packed and she had a lot of tables. For food? We ordered the spicy maple wings and corn bread with their signature maple butter. Entrees were the fish and chips as well as ribs with mac and cheese & broccoli. I would like to bathe in said maple butter. I will have to restrain myself for next time, but I digress... The corn bread was to DIE for and is a MUST TRY! Wings were meaty, huge, tasty and heavily drizzled in a thick, slightly sweet and sticky sauce. Although I wish they were a bit more spicy- it's just a personal preference and I would not DARE take a star off, as they were HEAVENLY. The fish and chips were OUT OF THIS WORLD! Beer battered with a crispy shell, accompanied by a perfectly seasoned bed of fries below. The portion was enough to serve two! My husband had ribs that were literally falling off the bone. I believe they had a habanero dry rub and were finished off with a saucy BBQ. The side of cavatappi mac had a slight garlic flavor and is literally the stuff dreams are made of. I think it might be my all time favorite. PLEASE DONT CHANGE THE RECIPE!! Soooo gooey and cheesy! The broccoli (hands down to my husband for ordering a healthy option) was damn good! Perfectly cooked.... I feel like I should adopt this side as a dish for home... Drinks? I'm a DRINKER- and drinks were large, flavorful and STRONG! What more could you ask for?! 10/10 definitely will be back to try the 20 other things I thought looked great! This place is a winner and we are so happy to have them in our town instead of having to drive to Boston for a...
Read moreSaloon Six never disappoints. We started this evening off with the Boneless Tenders. The order is huge … you could literally make a meal out of it. It consists of 10 ounces of breaded chicken tenders served with your choice of various flavors. We chose the garlic parmesan. These are by far the best I have ever eaten. Well worth the $14.00, because my husband will finish this for lunch tomorrow.
For $7.00, the crock of onion soup finished with croutons, provolone, and Swiss cheese is absolutely delicious. The broth has such a great flavor.
My husband ordered off of “The Chicken Coop” portion of the menu. He loves the E.G.C. BLT for $16.00. It is noted as “One of our owner’s favorites.” It never disappoints! It is a seasoned breaded chicken breast deep fried and served with bacon, lettuce, tomato, and ranch on a grilled bulkie roll. The leftovers will be his supper tomorrow!
I chose from the “Wild Wild Wednesday” menu. The Reuben sandwich was absolutely delicious!! The shaved corn beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, thousand island dressing that was served on the marble bread was huge! It was so thick and so tasty! (By far the thickest I have ever eaten!) I barely finished half of it. It was served with a heaping order of fries. Well worth the $16.00.
We prefer to sit in the bar section of the restaurant, and Amanda and Heather are always fun! They are attentive and obviously love their jobs.
Another great meal at Saloon Six as we celebrated our 42nd wedding anniversary!
Always nice to see the owner there as well as family...
Read moreAfter coming here for years with 5 star results, something change dramatically last night. Both my wife and I ordered tenderloin tips. The menu stated $29, the bill $31, but that wasn’t the problem. My tips were gamey tasting meat. Tried 3 pieces that had no resemblance to beef. My wife said her’s was fine. The waitress stated that I would have to choice another meal choice, because I would “not be happy with replacement tips”. To me ??? Red flag. My wife got thru half of her tips when she stopped eating and said that her last tip tasted “nasty”. My substitution was pot roast, which I was assured would be right out. It wasn’t. Only when I gave up and decided to leave (by this time my wife had completely finished her meal” my meal arrived. The pot roast was so over cooked that I could mash it with a fork. No consistency, too much gravy. Barely a substitute. I waited 15 minutes for my 2nd ice tea, waitress apologized twice as she passed, but did not rush back with my drink. We then had to cool our heels, additionall, as she was having trouble getting the manager to sign off on the meal swap. She had 30 minutes to get this done, but choose to wait until bill time. They compensated us, with a free ice tea and a $6 credit to our bill. Don’t know what happened to this place, but if the manager can not make time to visit us in their restaurant or comp a bad meal, we will move on to a new...
