Basil's Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Weirton District

Always coming here to have a good time, and always leave happy and full! It's a hard time to find/keep workers right now and there is limited seating capacity so it is important to be mindful and patient, but the food and service is well worth it. The pierogis are bomb, and the homerun sauce is always a winner. We once sat in a busy bar when a party 12 people all arrived at once with no notice and expected immediate service when the place was nearly full and short handed, and that's just not having a reasonable expectation.

That said, we were told there aren't reservations but it was a courtesy to call ahead if we were coming in a group, which is logical. We did so 3 hours ahead, but still weren't really given a fond welcome when we got there ("Oh, christ" is what was only said, i believe haha). Immediately after our dinner course we were also asked to relocate to another area if we weren't ordering more. My cousin has been wanting to take us here for awhile now. We live in the Robinson Township area so we finally settled on a day for us all to meet there today. Oh. My. Goodness. First of all if you are coming from the Pittsburgh area do not be intimidated by the drive! Easy Peasy! Directly off the exit for downtown Weirton literally. Soooo worth the drive & all highway! If you have rode out to Star Lake for a concert you can go 10 more minutes to Basil’s. Wasn’t sure at first they were really busy which is always a good sign- bartender was somewhat aloof. At first we were slightly annoyed. However he made up for it. We had a large group & they hooked us up! The wing’s were insanely delicious & huge. With the way the prices of wings right now you will drop a buck —- but they take care of you. Someone in our group ordered a burger I have never seen one so massive. I liked the fact that they had a full hot dog 🌭 menu & half of their hot dog sales go to charity! How wonderful is that? everything was delicious! Do yourself a favor- GO. HOPE...

I really really love the wings here. I live in Pittsburgh, and have always sworn by Big Shot Bobs. My partner lives in Weirton, so I was super happy learning there was a BSB here as well. BUT THEN I tried Basil's for the first time, and was like, whoa. So much better than Big Shot Bobs, both in flavor and price.

So far, I've tried 8 or 9 of their flavors (tonight I went for the more obscure ones, like the Peanut Butter Hot, Coney Island, and the Highlander Coffee BBQ), and they have all blown me away. I can't wait to keep going through the menu of flavors until I've tried them all.

The fact that I can also get them in all-flats is one of the best parts. Other places charge an arm and a leg to get either all-flats or all-drums, but Basil's is just a small fee. That alone has me...
