Gus's Goodies — Restaurant in Weirton District

Terrible!! Store has gone downhill with poor quality and crappy customer service. I only rate with one star as I need to in order to post a review. Otherwise it totally sucked!! I would post a negative number if it were possible. I arrived at the store to get some cut sugar cookies for the Holiday. They were out of sugar cookies at 9AM !! How is that possible?? (Ummm... maybe we need to plan ahead for some increased sales.) I was waited on by a very rude "20-something" who acted like my order was disrupting her cell phone time. I was able to select a few of the items I needed. VERY OVERPRICED mediocre (at best) pastries. Very disappointed overall. My cookies were dry and stale, and clearly not made same day. Some were under cooked. Obviously thrown together with no concern for quality. Shame on you Gus's Goodies !! I will look elsewhere for my bakery needs in the future!! We got four donuts. The glazed raised were basic grocery store or Dunkin Donuts quality donuts. The white frosting filled donut was mediocre and had too much dough. We also got a cake doughnut with chocolate on it which was absolutely disgusting. That is the worst cake donut I have had ever. My boyfriend picked it out for himself and wouldn't touch it again after one bite so I tried it and he was right. Terrible. It tasted like nutmeg, too. Why would you do that to a donut? But that isn't what made it so bad. It would have been just as bad without the nutmeg. They need to change their cake doughnut recipe. I looked at the cookies in their case and they all looked bad and cheap quality so I didn't buy any. After trying their donuts, I think that was a good decision. The universe compensated us because the next day we drove through Washington, PA and caught the Krispy Kreme while their hot donuts...

This is the only Bakery my family will order Birthday Cakes from. Their Donuts are also the best. Have no idea what some of these reviewers are talking about. In fact, I was so curious, I looked at one reviewers "reviews" of other places, and that person only gave a review when she/he wasn't satisfied with her product/service. So do not go by her review of Gus'. I'm telling you , if i even bring home another Birthday cake for my wife, it would ruin her day. Case in point: Her Birthday is today, I called Gus's forgetting that its Monday and they do not bake today. Guess what? We are waiting till tomorrow to celebrate it. This place...
