Weiser Classic Candy — Restaurant in Weiser

UPDATE 11/7/24: I am changing my review to 5 stars. I was able to stop again. I used the gift card the owner sent me. I had excellent customer service this visit, the staff behind the counter was knowledge about their products. The candy I purchased was delicious!! I am a fan of the dark choc velvets!! I happened to meet the owner. He is very gracious. The reason I didn't delete the old review and just write a new one, is because this is a true example of a SMALL BUSINESS that cares and went the extra mile to make a 1st bad experience, right. SMALL BUSINESS is the back bone of communities and this shows how much the owner cares. Thank you for being a small business in Weiser, Idaho that does right and cares!!!

UPDATE 9/26/24: The owner was kind enough to send me a gift card to give them another try. Which I will do in the next few weeks. Stay tuned :)

I went in there to buy a couple of pieces of candy. Planned to be a quick stop. Their customer service sucks. They only had 2 people behind the counter helping people with long orders and generally chatting with the customer, not related to their order. This Candy Store is located downtown Weiser inside a Restaurant. The Candy is displayed on Trays inside a long glass case. Behind the counter one can see stacks and stacks of Weiser Candy Boxes in a couple different sizes. Most of the various Chocolates were not clearly identified so I had to ask what many of them were. As I was making a decision to purchase approximately 1lb of various Bon-Bons & Truffles, the Clerk had a small white pastry bag in her hand to place my choices in ( each piece of chocolate set in its own bon-bon paper cup ) . I asked the Clerk to please place my selections in the appropriate 1lb Box. She stated " we don't do that " . I was taken aback ! As was my Sister whom I was traveling with. After asking & explaining why I would obviously prefer a box to secure these spendy Chocolates Plus speaking with a Mgr. In Charge , I selected (4) Chocolate Bon-Bons and a Truffle . The Clerk promptly put the Chocolates in the small pastry bag and rolled the top of bag down tightly ! Not only did this Candy Store lose a potential longtime customer they also lost a sale as I would have purchased more Chocolates if placed in appropriate container . Oh my goodness...what a hidden gem this place is. I went in for first visit recently with a sweet tooth and they did not disappoint. The young man who helped me was terrific. I wish I knew his name. I was given one piece as a first time customer(?) and it was delicious. A very light mint flavor in the creamy inside. I purchased 4 different kinds to try out. First was Almond bark in milk chocolate: DROOL Next was what they call a grizzly paw or bear paw, I honestly can not recall but it was caramel covered in milk chocolate with cashews as the toenails. SOOO YUMMY! 3rd was milk chocolate covered caramel with a sea salt sprinkling and I wish I had gotten a BUNCH more of those. They were gone so fast all I can remember is the desire to rush back for more! Lastly was a Huckleberry Truffle and I thought there was going to be a berry inside but there wasn't. It was a Huckleberry flavored truffle. It was exquisite. I cannot wait to go back and try the sandwiches as well as MORE CANDY!!!! I highly recommend you go get some. Again and again. Personally I don't think I'll be able to wait long!...
