We stopped at PJ's for dinner one evening during our vacation in late June. They have a large menu selection with an equally large variety. Something for just about everyone. They were moderately busy when we arrived around 6 PM. The girl at the counter who took our orders was friendly, very engaging, and a real delight. With so many things on the menu, it was a little challenging trying to make a choice, but the girl told us there was no rush and to take our time. We finally settled on a lobster roll plate and 4 pieces of fried chicken. The dining room had an ample number of tables and we had no problem finding an empty one. Our meals were served up roughly 20 minutes later. The lobster roll plate ($32) was average size and very tasty. My 4-pc fried chicken meal was served very hot. It was crispy, juicy, and delicious. At $13, it was something of a bargain on their menu and provided a fairly generous portion of food for the price. The total bill for our two meals with beverages was a bit over $50 plus tax, with the lobster roll plate being the majority of that. Prices for many of the menu items looked to be fairly reasonable, while some other prices looked to be higher than expected. A number of items were simply marked "Market Price". Both meals were very good, the counter service was great, and the wait time for our food was about average. The number of parking spaces looked to be more than adequate, but it can get a little congested. Based on this visit, I'd recommend PJ's. Enjoy, and thanks...
Read morePJ's is one of our favorite places to pick up fish and chips or a Cape Cod Rueben and head to the pier for lunch like we did today. My husband is a fan of their taco salad too. Keep reading... They also offer great fish tacos, mussels in various delicious preparations such as marinara or Thai, oysters, burgers, etc. There are always daily specials hand written on the board in the order window that you just have to check out! Because they all sound so good, I have a hard time making up my mind. But, no matter your selection, everything is always fresh.
It's a very casual restaurant with walk-up window service outside and counter service inside. Seating indoors in the ac is available and there is a roofed/windowed, but more open outdoor area too.
You gotta go for ice cream after dinner or a day at the beach. Choose your favorite hard pack or soft serve.
The PJ's family are some of the nicest folks around and it's obvious the pride and care they take to provide consistently good food for their...
Read moreOther then the miserable woman at the counter who took our order, PJ's was excellent. The bf and I stopped after a paddle boarding lesson and wanted to try everything. There's a lot on their menu and we got the lobster roll, fried oyster tacos, buffalo bleu turkey burger and the fried fish sandwich. The lobster roll and fried oyster tacos were SO GOOD. I would get those tacos every time I visited PJ's. This was my first time traveling through New England and their lobster roll is what imagined that a lobster roll would taste like – simply delicious. The sandwiches weren't bad but they just didn't compete with the other 2. The buffalo bleu turkey burger could've used extra buffalo sauce (it tasted better when we had it for leftovers the next day) and the fish sandwich was just okay... It was nice to relax in the shade and try some New England delicacies. I would definitely go again... I just wouldn't mind a more pleasant person to greet us at the window next...
