I generally don't leave reviews but I feel I have to share as I've never been treated so poorly by waitstaff in my life, me and my family are on our annual trip to Cape cod that we've been doing for over 20 years and usually we quite like the pearl. However our most recent visit for lunch was appalling, our party was admittedly fairly big (8 people) but I don't feel this should lower the quality of service, our server was Lexie and I thoroughly believe she needs to either be retrained or find another job, we were seated and were giving our orders when she'd started collecting menus without taking my brother's order, I politely asked if she could take his order as well when she snapped at me said she was collecting menus and will Finnish when she's ready. Another member of our party asked if he could do the fried fish tacos broiled (an option we know is available as he has ordered it for well over 20 years) and she was told they did not offer that substitution and would not ask the kitchen. Upon receiving our food my chicken burger was ice cold, my friend with the fish tacos fries were again ice cold, my brother's partners nachos had very obviously been sat under at heat land for some time and were mushy. When I made Lexie aware of this problem she turned and spaghetti "well you should have told me when I asked you earlier' she had not asked me, and I am aware it's a big table and it's possible I didn't notice her asking the other end how there food was but she most certainly did not come and ask me about my food. I won't hold this against the pearl but I seriously think Lexie needs an attitude check and some training on how to talk to people or seriously consider finding a different job, absolutely disgusting way to...
Read moreI had such a good experience at the Pearl!
I very rarely give out five stars, but honestly, I have nothing to nitpick from this experience.
We were seated on the patio, with plenty of space between us and others, so we felt safe in COVID times. Everyone wore their masks, over their noses and mouths, and we felt very taken care of. We all got drinks and they were all satisfying, from local beer to frosé to cider and more.
My BF and I got oysters, which were super fresh and delicious. They were also well shucked, no shell pieces to be found.
My mom got the oyster sashimi, which had thin pieces of ginger and maybe ponzu sauce? I can't remember now, but whatever it was, it was frickin' bomb. Maybe the bite of the night.
My dad got a stuffed quahog, which was HUGE, rich, and filling.
For my meal, I got the baked scallops, and they were just fantastic. The casserole dish was brimming with scallops, perfectly cooked, baked with leeks, mushrooms, fennel seeds, bacon, and bechamel sauce, topped with crushed crackers. I subbed the potatoes out for more veggies, which were roasted and not overdone. The dish was SO SO rich, as you can tell from the bacon and bechamel, but it all came together really nicely. The leeks and mushrooms lended a bunch of umami flavor and the crackers were so crispy on top, giving additional texture to the dish. I could have easily split this with someone, BUT.... I ate it all myself.
Everything here sounded fantastic, and I'd definitely return to eat my way...
Read moreWe had an amazing experience at Pearl Restaurant & Bar, with a stunning view from the deck overlooking the harbor. My dad enjoyed a Cape Cod Blonde, while I savored a Mendoza Malbec from Argentina, and my girlfriend had the Decoy Merlot. It was happy hour, so we couldn’t resist trying the Wellfleet oysters and little necks, which were just a dollar each. My dad and girlfriend loved them (I’m not much of a seafood person), and knowing the oysters came straight from the harbor made it even better.
The service was exceptional—our server was friendly, gave great recommendations, and was very attentive throughout our meal. The Caesar salad was fresh, with homemade dressing and warm chicken that had excellent flavor. The fish tacos were also a highlight—fresh and flavorful, with a slaw that really tied everything together. My dad couldn’t stop raving about the cold lobster roll and the homemade chips that came with it.
Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience with great food, drinks, and service. I’d definitely recommend Pearl Restaurant & Bar, especially if you’re looking for a place with both amazing views and...
