I am from Boston and stopped here on my way back from the beach after reading reviews. I sat in the outside area. The outside had live music, a fun atmosphere with Jenga to play and was dog friendly.
We ordered a chicken sandwich and a caesar salad with chicken. The chicken sandwich comes with a generous serving and was absolutely amazing. It was perfectly sweet and had a nice subtle kick as well. The Sandwich was perfectly sauced, had a nice crunch and still a juicy moist bite. A must order! This is a sandwich I wish I had close by to me!
The sandwich came with a side and we picked the mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was homemade with real cheese and was also delicious.
I split a ceasar salad to start, it was fresh with crisp green lettuce, a great serving size. Also perfectly dressed and the sauce tasted homemade as well. The chicken had special pleasant subtle taste from being smoked!
The waitstaff and owner was very friendly, they gave our dog a homemade pork shoulder while we waited for our food! Overall we had a great experience and will come back to this spot again when we are in the area. I spent 4 years in north Carolina for college trying bbq and smoke houses and this spot is...
Read moreWent for early Friday evening dinner. Great service. The most patient waitress. We asked a lot of questions. I had the fried chicken. Reminded me of my mom's iron skillet fried chicken. A good thing. Could have a bit more crustiness for my taste, but it was really good. Juicy and flavorfull. The porky collard greens were definitely Southern style with plenty of smoky, flavor and bits of pork. Tater tots were hot and crispy. My husband got the brisket sandwich. It was good but not as smoky flavored or juicy as he'd hoped. He loved the smoky beans. Not overly sweet with too much barbecue sauce. Next time I want to try the smoked wings and house-made pickles.
For a refreshing cocktail try the Spicy Paloma and ask for extra jalapeno syrup to give it the kick promised. Made all the difference for me.
The atmosphere is casual. Seating is in booths, at tables or at the bar.
Live music some evenings. Wish we could have stayed for the Grab Brothers. They're great. Be advised, the band sets up in the main room. At least they were the night we were there. If you plan to have quiet dinner conversation it could be a challenge, so choose where you sit with that in mind. Otherwise,...
Read moreA server at another restaurant told me this was her favorite restaurant on the outer cape, so I decided to check it out. Holy smokes. My expectations were kinda low, I mean who goes to Cape Cod for barbecue? I went with a native born Texan and a North Carolina transplant and they were as surprised as I was. The food is really good. The barbecue is smoky, rich, and tender. The fried fish was flaky with a crispy crunchy batter. I didn’t have the buttermilk fried chicken, because my dinner companion refused to give it up.
Crucial for me as the father of someone with a shellfish allergy, they don’t fry any shellfish, so she could eat almost anything on the menu. Dining on the Cape can be miserable if you or someone in your family is allergic to shellfish because cross contamination is everywhere. Except here!
Lovely, chill service and atmosphere too, with live music during the Summer. Oh and don’t pass on...
