Chiefs smokin BBQ — Restaurant in Wellsburg District

What a thrill to be driving through an unfamiliar area and come across a roadside jewel of a bbq joint. I had delish brisket on a bun with a side of mac n cheese. I tried both sauce and preferred the red. Both were a little too sweet for my taste—I prefer a little more zing—but were pretty good. The staff was super friendly with quick service. I can tell you that the staff takes great pride in both their food and their facility. I ate at a picnic table in their lot—there’s no indoor dining—and it was a little noisy eating along WV-2 but I did enjoy the smell of the wood fired smoker and interacting with the friendly staff. We were within the first 20 customers do you ever order. We always get a small bucket. Which is plenty enough for my wife and I to eat dinner. Then I would even have little bit left for lunch the next day. Fast forward a few years and there is barely enough for one person to eat off of. I say something about it today. So I ended up ordering extra mac and cheese. To get home and eat our dinner that was not enough there for us both. I have had this conversation with a few other people around town. Every, and I mean every time I've been here. I've came late! I missed out on a lot, but the guys at chiefs hooked me up tremendously!! I've lived in the south most of my older life and I've had some of the best bbq it has to offer from all over and different styles.. these guys rock! They are a blend of Carolina, Tennessee, Texas ,and hillbilly styles! From their sides, to their brisket. Awesome! And their Carolina sauce is better than most I've had. KEEP KILLING IT YALL! ILL BE BACK. My only and only comment is find or develop a homemade badass sausage to add to the menu, well also learn how to make collard greens.. and then you'd be the baddest...
